M.A.D is the 5th upgrade of Path 2 for the Dartling Gunner in Bloons TD Battles 2. It is similar to its BTD6 counterpart, with the main difference being that its missiles deal less MOAB-class damage and have less pierce.

Each mega missile deals 500 MOAB-class damage and explodes up to 4 times (+2 with Powerful Darts), although only individual missile collisions inflict the massive MOAB-class damage. The increased MOAB-class damage also affects its improved MAD Rocket Storm ability, albeit with a weaker effect. MAD Rocket Storm missiles deal +12 MOAB-class damage and +4 Ceramic damage.

It costs $68,000, and is unlocked with the other Dartling Gunner tier 5 upgrades for Monkey Money1500.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

M.A.D is a specializer at taking down single-target blimps with ease, especially BADs to which it works best against. Early BADs will have no trouble getting demolished by M.A.D's main missiles. And later on in the game, the M.A.D serves as a DPS force against BAD rushes. Regardless, M.A.D is very weak against regular bloons and tends to struggle against weaker blimps without its M.A.D Rocket Storm ability to clean up, and hence needs additional defense to assist too.

Tips[]

  • The M.A.D is more effective on straight lines, similar to its previous upgrades.
  • The M.A.D shreds DDTs and BADs easily during earlier rounds.
  • Since the M.A.D has low pierce but high damage, it may struggle a lot against Tight ZOMG sends. Combine it with other defenses for the best results.
