Long Range is the 1st upgrade of Path 3 for the Monkey Buccaneer in Bloons TD Battles 2. Like its BTD6 counterpart, it increases range from 60 to 71 and pierce of darts and grapes by +1. It increases pierce of Cannon Ship bombs from 28 to 35, but none for frags. However, it costs more to account for the efficiency of the higher-pierce grapes and the effectiveness of Merchantman.

It costs $300.

Strategy

Summary

The extra range helps the Buccaneer reach further, but most importantly it gives +1 pierce to both darts and grapes, making each shot pierce many more bloons. On top of this, the projectile speed helps reach bloons that much further than normal, in some occasions reaching across almost half the entire vertical end of the map.

Tips

• To make full use of this upgrade, the Grape Shot upgrade is necessary to make full use of its cost. It is situationally helpful when not going for Grape Shot, but it misses a lot of early-to-mid-game DPS.
