“ | Bananas last 30 seconds before rotting instead of 15. | ” |
~ In-game descirption |
Long Life Bananas is the first upgrade on Path 2 for the Banana Farm in Bloons TD 6. This upgrade turns the bananas green, making them last for 30 seconds instead of 15 seconds. When used as a crosspath for Marketplace, it does literally nothing.
This upgrade costs $255 on Easy, $300 on Medium, $325 on Hard, and $360 on Impoppable.
Description[]
Overview[]
The Banana Farm gains a wooden log fence. The green bananas from this Farm last much longer, as they are less ripe than their usual counterparts, which are yellow. Crosspathing reflects these visual changes.
All collectables produced from this Farm last for 30 seconds instead of 15 seconds before rotting. This allows for more time to collect the items before their value expires.
Targeting Priorities[]
Long Life Bananas produces bananas that are tossed erratically around its range. Like most Banana Farm upgrades, Long Life Bananas lacks any real targeting priority.
Costs[]
- Updated as of Version 44.0. Listed prices exclude external buffs, any sacrifices, and Monkey Knowledge.

Summary[]
Long Life Bananas increases lifespan of the bananas, allowing them to last longer before disappearing. It does nothing in terms of improving overall income, but rather this upgrade is purely for player convenience. By having this upgrade, managing between banana collection and defense micromanagement becomes more convenient; the player can focus on other defenses for a bit longer before going back to collect the bananas.
Tips[]
- This upgrade is often considered to be one of the least effective upgrades to buy due to the Monkey Farmer automatically collecting the bananas in under a second, thus rendering this upgrade as a stepping stone to Valuable Bananas or Monkey Bank. Just like on BTD5 and Battles Flash, the cursor should be able to collect bananas fast enough.
- However, if Monkey Farmers are unavailable, it might be fine to get this upgrade to have more time to pick up bananas, especially if the player has tens of Banana Plantation farms.
- Do not use this with Marketplace, as it does nothing to enhance the Marketplace in any way, wasting money, unless going for Valuable Bananas.
Version History[]
Balance Changes[]
Long Life Bananas is fairly cheaper than it did in BTD5 and provides more overall banana lifespan compared to both the Flash and Mobile versions of BTD5. No changes in BTD6 since initial release, however.
- 1.0 (compared to BTD5)
- Long Life Bananas costs less ($500 → $300)
- Long Life Bananas banana lifespan increased (20s/25s → 30s)

Trivia[]
- Long Life Bananas when first released was the third-cheapest Farm upgrade in this game by upgrade cost alone, but is now the second-cheapest due to Banana Salvage's price nerf in Version 42.0.
