Laserbeam is an attack style characterized by creating a hitscan area of damage to pop bloons. It is part of the damage types family. All attacks with the Laserbeam property normally have the Plasma
type.
Laserbeam is represented on the Bloons Wiki as
, the upgrade artwork for Plasma Accelerator in Bloons TD 6, which depicts a plasma cannon. Laserbeams are typically rectangular, unlike Area of Effect
, which is typically radial. Laserbeam often comes with Contact Damage
because of how laserbeams tend to work. Laserbeam works differently to a standard projectile because attacks with the Laserbeam property will immediately damage all bloons in its area (provided it is not pierce capped), and lacks a physical projectile.
Typical examples of Laserbeam are Plasma Accelerator, BTD6 Ray of Doom and Master Builder's Green Sentry Paragon, and BTD5 Ray of Doom. Adora's Ball of Light has two interdependent attacks: a laserbeam attack with Laserbeam
, and a pointer with Area of Effect
. Same applies for Plasma Accelerator. The Energy Arms from Bloons Super Monkey 2, starting with Pulse Whip, have laserbeam properties as well, although they are not rectangular.
Because Laserbeams lack a physical projectile, similar to Snipe
attacks, they can ignore Vortex's wind shield that triggers upon reaching a skull. Thus, they can still damage Vortex, regardless of whether the wind shield is active or not.
