Throws heavy Kylie boomerangs that follow a straight path instead of curved.
~ In-game description

Kylie Boomerang is the third upgrade of Path 3 for the Boomerang Monkey in Bloons TD 6. It converts the boomerangs into Kylie boomerangs that follow a straight path instead of curved. This allows the Boomerang Monkey to attack Bloons with more accuracy and precision along straight lines. In addition to a different boomerang flight pattern, kylie boomerangs are able to re-hit the same bloons multiple times for every 0.3s of contact with the same bloon. Each kylie boomerang can pop a maximum of 18 bloons per shot (22 with Improved Rangs and 27 with Glaives).

This upgrade costs $1,105 on Easy, $1,300 on Medium, $1,405 on Hard, and $1,560 on Impoppable.

Description[]

Overview[]

Kylieboom

Kylie Boomerang throwing a heavy boomerang

The monkey for Kylie Boomerang replaces its red jumpsuit (from Red Hot Rangs) with an Australian outback outfit. For this outfit, the monkey wears a beige leather hat with a brown band decorated with crocodile-like teeth around it, as well as an open sleeveless shirt and a necklace of what appears to be a crocodile tooth. The monkey's dominant hand wears a brown leather glove. The boomerang appears to be no longer red hot, and is now a heavy kylie boomerang. On the official upgrade portrait, the Kylie Boomerang monkey appears to be happy.

Crosspathing with path 1 dyes the band on its hat red, then cyan, as well as adding sharp curved blades to the end of the boomerang. Crosspathing with path 2 adds 1 or 2 red stripes to its hat.

Kylie Boomerang increases the boomerang pierce to 18, and adds the ability for them to deal Contact Damage Contact Damage (unspecified contact damage rate), allowing them to hit the same bloon multiple times every 0.3 seconds per remaining available pierce. To aid this, its boomerangs now follow Straight Movement Straight Attack, and linger at the edge of their range for a short time before returning.

Targeting Priorities[]

Kylie Boomerang targets bloons using the standard targeting priorities. It shoots straight movement projectiles.

  • First: Targets the first bloon visible within its range.
  • Last: Targets the last bloon visible within its range.
  • Close: Targets the closest bloon visible within its range.
  • Strong: Targets the strongest bloon visible within its range.

Like all Boomerang Monkeys, Kylie Boomerang can access Change Hands secondary targeting priority to switch hands, changing the origin and direction of the boomerangs.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

Kylie Boomerang's rehitting mechanic and considerably high pierce makes it strong as an early-game excel. Along straightline formations, the kylies can rehit bloons that linger in its path, dealing high amounts of damage to normal bloons if utilized to the max. The considerably high pierce of this upgrade also makes this tower handy as moderate grouped damage. As the boomerangs are now thrown straight instead of curved, the Kylie Boomerang works better along straight lines, rather than curved formations like its previous upgrades.

Tips[]

  • Since Kylie boomerangs have a decent amount of pierce by itself, it is recommended to purchase Path 2 upgrades. Faster Throwing and Faster Rangs will be very helpful for optimizing the use of straight-line boomerangs and their extra damage that they have.
  • While the upgrade itself is decent, it is not an outstanding tower due to its main attack quickly falling off when larger rushes of bloons (especially spaced) come.
  • If planning to upgrade a Boomerang Monkey to this upgrade, place it behind a straightaway on the track so that its pierce can be fully utilized and its rehitting mechanic optimized.
