Inferno Ring with the targetable Strong targeting

Inferno Ring is the 5th upgrade on Path 1 of the Tack Shooter in Bloons TD Battles 2. It creates an endless fire ring and increases the range of the tower from 23 to 35. The Inferno Ring cannot pop Purple Bloons, and its basic attack cannot pop Camo Bloons. Flame ring deals 11 damage and +11 to MOAB-class, and hits up to 45 bloons at base, attacking every 0.1s. Meteor deals 900 damage on hit plus a 150 damage explosion that ignites affected bloons on fire for 150 damage per second for up to 4 seconds. Meteor attacks every 4s, and is initially set on Strong.

Crosspathing also affects its rings and meteors. The flame ring gains +10 pierce and +5 pierce with respective Path 2 crosspaths, and +1 damage per Path 3 crosspath, while the meteor itself increases to 1800 with 5-0-2 or +2 pierce with 5-2-0. Intermediate crosspaths also impact the meteor, 1300 damage with 5-0-1 or +1 pierce with 5-1-0.

It costs $45,500, and is unlocked with the other tier 5 Tack Shooter upgrades for Monkey Money1500.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

A strong bloon-popping option that also comes with high single-target damage too. It is quite expensive, but it serves well for its DPS in combination with other powerful Tack Shooter options.

Tips[]

  • Both crosspaths have special uses for the ring and meteor. Choose the crosspath based on the needs of the defense.

3.2
  • BUFF Inferno Ring damage increased from 8 to 11.
Despite receiving a few major buffs in the past, Inferno Ring still doesn't see much action and so we’re giving it another damage increase, this time to its ring in order to improve its grouped popping power.
~ Ninja Kiwi
3.3.2
  • BUFF Inferno Ring: bonus damage to MOAB-class bloons increased from +7 to +11 damage (total MOAB-class damage 18 → 22)
[...] We’ve also given Inferno Ring another much needed damage buff so that it can better deal with the ramped up MOAB class bloons in the late game.
~ Ninja Kiwi
4.1
  • BUFF Meteor damage increased
    • 5-x-0: 700 → 900
    • 5-0-1: 1000 → 1300
    • 5-0-2: 1400 → 1800
Inferno Ring is still in need of a buff, rarely seeing any use.
~ Ninja Kiwi
4.2
  • Change Meteor's targeting now can be selected (previously it was set only on strong)
A small quality of life change to offer added flexibility. It’ll default to ‘strong’ since that is what it targeted previously.
