Icicle Impale

Icicle Impale is the 5th upgrade on Path 3 of the Ice Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. It is almost identical to its BTD6 counterpart, except it is slightly more expensive and attacks a tad bit faster. Each shot deals 50 damage to MOAB-class bloons and freezes them for 1.5s (2.2s with 0-1-5 or 3.0s with 0-2-5). It attacks every 0.8625s, slightly slower than its BTD6 counterpart (0.75s). Each shot freezes up to 30 bloons.

It costs $32,000, and is unlocked with the other tier 5 Ice Monkey upgrades for Monkey Money1500.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

Icicle Impale does a very significant slow against almost all type of blimps while also dealing high damage. This is especially the case when it comes to DDTs; an Icicle Impale that pops Lead and detects camo can help stall DDTs reliably while doing a lot of damage, particularly handy against DDT all-out rushes. Compared to Super Glue, Icicle Impale requires Cold Snap for built-in camo and lead-popping, as well as a higher potential for synergy with other Ice Monkeys, but also a potential for dissynergy with towers that can't pop Frozen Bloons.

Tips[]

  • 2-0-5 is generally the better crosspath in most scenarios within Battles 2 due to the danger of Camo and Lead. 0-2-5 has superior DPS but lacks any defense against Camo or Lead, unless given a MIB nearby. This is especially the case of DDTs.
    • If there is a direct way to reliably counter the camo and lead properties, especially use of a nearby MIB, then the 0-2-5 crosspath is superior due to the Permafrost effect being able to be obtained in other ways and also not contributing much to extra slowdown.

Trivia[]

  • Until Version 1.1.1's patch notes were released, the Battles 2 community initially believed that Icicle Impale's MOAB-class damage was always 50 in this game.
