Hot Shots is the 3rd upgrade on Path 1 of the Tack Shooter in Bloons TD Battles 2. Along with allowing the Tack Shooter to pop Frozen and Lead Bloons, each tack now pops two layers instead of one, and attack cooldown remains at 0.63s per volley. Due to the fact that it deals physical damage, it can still pop Purple Bloons, unlike its succeeding upgrades, Ring of Fire and Inferno Ring.

It costs $600, and is unlocked by default.

Strategy

Summary

Hot Shots deals multiple layers of damage, shredding stronger bloons more reliably than other Tack options, and combined with popping of all bloon types allows it to shine as a counter to Leads and synergize with Ice Monkeys without needing Embrittlement. It does have a slight weakness to grouped bloons, but this is where other Tacks or a simple Bomb could assist here. Hot Shots is also among the few lower-tiers that can reliably defend against DDTs, but not so for Fortified DDTs.

Tips

• 3-0-2 has better single-target DPS, such as against DDTs, but 3-2-0 offers more pierce. In either case, 3-0-2 tends to do better, as other Tier 3 Tacks are superior at grouped damage anyway.

Version History

It is worth a mention of a very slight price nerf for Even Faster Shooting leading into Hot Shots.

• Hot Shots actually costs $100 more than in BTD6 by cumulative prices, because of the Even Faster Shooting price increases.
