Bloons Wiki

The Hall of Masters is the most prestigious arena in Battles 2. The Hall of Masters behaves much differently from the traditional Bloons TD Battles 2 Arenas. As the apex of the arenas in the game, a leaderboard system takes place instead of a trophy system. In this arena, players earn/lose points depending on their performances in each game, fluctuating leaderboard positions after each game.

Appearance[]

The logo for Hall of Masters represents the True Sun God, only showing the head with a kite-shield like shape behind the True Sun God's head, colored a light blue color with the outline of the shape transitioning from cyan, to blue-purple, then to a bright green color.

The island on the Arena Select screen shows a golden-yellow staircase emerging from the ocean, which leads to a long path made out of golden-yellow tiles, with some of the tiles being missing and replaced with dirt. There are two groups of four long torches, with each group being stuck into the left and right edges of the path. There also seems to be solid railing on the left and right edges, with the torches being just right in front of them.

The path leads to the main entrance of a pyramid-shaped temple the same material and color as the staircase. The pyramid temple is cut into five different portions, with the portions getting smaller the higher the portions are, with the exception of the 1st portion. The pyramid temple lacks a pointy top unlike typical pyramids and is flat instead. Vines are protruding out of the crack between the 4th and 5th portion of the pyramid temple and a stream of water comes out from the left and right of the main entrance in between the 2nd and 3rd portion of the pyramid temple, falling into the 1st portion, which is holding a small pool of water. Water pours out underneath the 1st portion on both sides, creating 2 rivers that is right next to the solid railings of the path, both rivers flow into the ocean.

The main entrance is made of the same color and material as the pyramid temple, with a staircase leading from the path up into the temple. There are two beams that get more wider at the top part of both of them, which connect to a horizontal beam, shorter than the vertical beams with a circle made of the same material and color attached to the middle of the beam. A thin, flat beam comes out from underneath the horizontal beam, acting like a roof. A wide, tall vertical beam comes out of the middle of the horizontal beam with two extra vertical beams on the left and right of the wide beam. Vines are protruding from the small crack in between the roof and the thin horizontal beam, hanging off of the ledge of the roof. Even more vines protrude from the crack between the horizontal beam and the three huge beams on top of the said beam, with some hanging onto the circle attached.

The rest of the island is dirt, with occasional grass popping out. Two groups of two golden statues resemble the Sun God, with the two groups being set to the left of the left river and the right to the right river. All four statues are facing toward the path. A couple palm trees are found in the back of the island, with big bushes and tall grass also being seen at the back of the island.

On the Battle Screen, the only difference is that the path is longer and wider, with the temple being farther away.

On the Loading Screen, there's a huge forest surrounding an open area with a large body of water underneath. Bridges made out of some form of brick lead to a intersection, the middle has the same temple on the island, and two other temples without entrances to the left and the right. the left and right platforms are wide while the middle is smaller. Multiple support beams are holding the bridges and platforms and underneath the bridges is a large body of water. There is a small line of water on the left and right platforms that constantly falls into the water below.

Gameplay[]

In the Hall of Masters, the player's Trophy count is hidden and matchmaking is done through an Elo ladder system. The player is put on a global leaderboard for the chance to earn special badges. Only the top 100 are displayed on this leaderboard, and there are badges for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, as well as the top 10, and the top 100. Each season lasts for 8 weeks and rewards are given for the highest arena or the player's placement in the Hall of Masters. Even if the player loses too many games, the player will NOT be downgraded to the ZOMG Superdome and the trophy count will always remain at Trophies100. The player can only be demoted once a season ends.

Players on Hall of Masters paired with other players on the same arena will be marked on the leaderboard after playing a single game.

Starting from Version 1.0.4, Hall of Masters rewards +15% bonus for Tower XP and Hero Points. And starting from Version 1.0.6, Docks is removed from map rotation, except in Private Battles, and Version 1.1.0 includes the maps Ports and Inflection. Mayan was later removed secretly in Version 1.1.0, and In the Wall in Version 1.4.0 secretly removed too.

Leaderboards[]

Leaderboard placements are based on an Glicko-like scoring system. Winning more games gets the player higher up on the leaderboard, while losing sends them down the leaderboard. Only the Top 100 players have visible placements, and the player cannot see their own placement unless Top 100, aside from their own grade. The final placement determines the medal earned.

There are 10 grades on the leaderboard:

  • 1st Place
  • 2nd Place
  • 3rd Place
  • Top 10
  • Top 100
  • Top 10%
  • Top 25%
  • Top 50%
  • Top 75%
  • Participation

Leaderboard score is the true score of the player and is visible to all players since Version 1.5.0. The score of a player generally increases for wins and decreases for losses. After winning/losing a game, the change of score is shown on the results menu. When the player first enters Hall of Masters, they will begin with 3500 score. Leaderboard score is dependent on a separate algorithm that is behind the scenes, based on the Glicko system.

Extreme score differences can result in significant differences in scoring. If the result is unexpected, this results in a major amount of score change depending on the player in that scenario; beating a player with a higher score rewards the most points, while losing to a player with lower score deducts the most points. On the opposite side of the spectrum, an "expected" result of two players with extreme score differences nets only a small change in score; beating a player with a lower score tends to only net a minor increase, while losing to a player with a higher score only tends to only net a minor decrease.

General playerbase and other features[]

Generally, Hall of Masters players are typically the players with the most experience of the game. These players are usually incredibly flexible on what loadouts they bring in, and usually focus on several solid strategies that work. However, many of them are not actually skilled, as a lot of them tend to either abuse bugs, overdefend or underdefend a lot, and so on, which can be discouraging especially given the lack of the option to drop out of Hall of Masters. Often, players in this arena tend to use Micromanagement in the most dire-looking situations. Players in the Hall of Masters typically have far more than one dedicated strategy they use for each map, and have a dynamic sense of adjustment to defenses based on the battle situation. Hall of Masters player usually have VIP as it gives the player increased Tower XP. They usually have Tier 5 upgrades unlocked for most of their towers as well as Monkey Mastery items for towers that they use.

If a player is ranked in Hall of Masters has not played a game there in the last three days, their score will decay by 5 every 2 hours.
