In particular, this article needs: Examples of Going the Distance effects (also double-check if sentries are affected by lifespan too; there is a rumor that it does). |
Going the Distance is a Relic Knowledge exclusive to Contested Territory in Bloons TD 6. When active, all towers gain +30% range and +30% projectile lifespan. If multiple of the same Relic are active, specifically from combining a Store Relic and a Map Relic of the same type, the effects stack multiplicatively.
Strategy[]
Summary[]
Extra range can be useful for reaching just a little further. This is mostly useful for maps that require the extra range. For instance, the large range bonus allows medium-range towers to attack both sides of the bloon lane on Quiet Street, and allows towers to better reach both lanes of Bloonarius Prime. Also, the extra range could help squeeze more towers within range of range-oriented buffs such as Villages.
Extra projectile lifespan might not sound much, but it has greatest effect on very specific types of attacks. Attacks that specifically involve on-track (e.g. Wall of Fire, Druid of the Jungle's aftervines, Cleansing Foam) or spike pile (e.g. Spike Factory, Caltrops) benefit greatly by encouraging stockpiles or otherwise increasing uptime of those deployable projectiles. Seeking attacks such as Neva-Miss Targeting may also greatly benefit from the extra lifespan. Similarly, Ultra-Juggernaut's multi-hitting massive pierce juggernauts may benefit further by increasing opportunities to hit as many targets as possible.
Tips[]
- Extra range is much better for short ranged towers or for extending the influence range of buffs to other towers (such as Jungle's Bounty's ability covering the range of Banana Farms).
- Wall of Fire with only Going the Distance for lifespan bonuses lets each blaze have 87% uptime, lasting 5.625s versus the default attack cooldown of 6.5s. Adding on top of Lingering Magic increases its duration to 6.75s, equivalent to 104% uptime.
- 1-2-0 Wall of Fire with Going the Distance increases uptime from 100% to 125%, from 6.5s to 8.125s. Adding on top of Lingering Magic increases its duration to 9.75s, equivalent to 150% uptime. By comparison, 1-2-0 Wall of Fire's uptime with Lingering Magic is 120%.
- Going the Distance works well on Time Attack for increasing lifespan of a lot of popular Race Event options, especially Wall of Fire and Gwendolin's cocktail.
