| “ | Shoots a blob of sticky glue that slows Bloons down by 50% | ” |
| ~ In-game description |
The Glue Gunner is a Primary-class tower that was in the initial release of Bloons TD Battles 2. Like its Bloons TD 6 counterpart, the tower retains its name and role from the Bloons TD 4 and 5 generations.
The Glue Gunner's primary role is to slow down Bloons. At the base tower, it shoots a harmless blob of sticky glue that slows Bloons down by 50%, sticking up to one affected target for up to 3 layers (more with Glue Soak and up to 11 seconds duration. Glue can pierce more bloons per shot with Bigger Globs and Glue Splatter. The glue can be upgraded to many different formulas, with Corrosive Glue and MOAB Glue as examples, and multiple types of glue can stack onto each other. All glues are governed by a simplified glue prioritization system; "stronger" glues are prioritized first and can override any weaker glues, with some exceptions.
Their targeting priorities are the same as from Bloons TD 6, with the regular First, Last, Close, and Strong targeting priorities as most towers have.
The base price for Glue Gunner is $100. It is unlocked by spending
150, unlocking all upgrades up to Tier 4, plus another
1,500 (or $2.99 USD) to unlock all its Tier 5 upgrades.
Description[]
It appears much like its BTD6 counterpart, with several differences such as minor graphics differences and animations exclusive to Bloons TD Battles 2.
Path 1 is the same as Bloons TD 6, increasing the glue's penetration and deadliness, with the Corrosive Glue upgrade allowing the glue to corrode and damage Bloons and MOAB-Class Bloons, although with halved duration and no slowdown. Further upgrades increases the corrosive glues power, with the Bloon Dissolver quickening the corrosion process. Bloon Liquefier further increases corrosion speed and also ups the Glue Gunner's pierce. The Bloon Solver fires glue at a fast rate while also being even more deadly. There are no known major changes besides stat changes.
Path 2 is also the same as Bloons TD 6, focusing on increasing the Glue Gunner's pierce and gluing speed, with also making Bloons vulnerable to damage. The Bigger Globs and Glue Splatter upgrades increase pierce by a lot, with the Glue Hose upgrade dramatically increasing attack speed. The Glue Strike ability glues all Bloons currently on screen, with the affected Bloons from it's ability making Bloons take more damage from all towers attacks for the glue duration. Glue Storm further strengthens the previous effects. There are no known major changes besides stat changes.
Path 3 is the same as Bloons TD 6, further going into the Glue Gunner's role of slowing down Bloons. Stickier Glue increases the glue duration whilst Stronger Glue increases it's slowdown effectiveness. MOAB Glue allows the Glue Gunner to slow down MOAB-Class Bloons and Relentless Glue makes it so that popped Glued Bloons leave a pile of glue that applies to more Bloons if they cross the pile, similar to a Glue Trap. Super Glue acts like a form of stun, slowing Bloons to a halt. There are no known major changes besides stat changes.
The Glue Gunner is classed as a Primary Monkey.
Target Priorities[]
The base Glue Gunner uses the standard target priorities: First, Last, Close, Strong. Many of the Glue Gunner's alternate attacks have target priorities that are integrated into the Glue's own target priorities. Glue Gunners will not attack bloons glued by their own glue attacks and will instead prioritize gluing new ones, except in the Super Glue's case, where it will attack any bloon that isn't immobilized rather than glued.
- First: Targets the first bloon visible within its range.
- Last: Targets the last bloon visible within its range.
- Close: Targets the closest bloon visible within its range.
- Strong: Targets the strongest bloon visible within its range.
Alternate attacks have a different set of target priorities:
- Glue Strike and Glue Storm target all bloons on screen.
- Relentless Glue's track blobs always target onto bloon track lanes every time an affected bloon is popped.
Glue Prioritization System[]
In Bloons TD Battles 2, there is a glue prioritization system. However, the glue prioritization system is far less convoluted compared to in Bloons TD 6. Different types of "colored" glue can stack with each other (e.g. MOAB Glue + The Bloon Solver + Glue Storm ability glue) without overriding respective effects. Any stacked glues wear out independently from each other. The only real prioritization of glue in this game is tiers of glue corrosiveness within glues of the same color (e.g. 2-0-0 Corrosive Glue overrides 0-0-0 Glue, etc.).
Upgrades[]

| The Bloon Solver COST: $19,000 | ||
| Description: Bloons a problem? Here's the solution.
Effect: Corrosion rate greatly increases versus Ceramics and MOAB-class, corrosion deals normal bloons from 1 damage per 0.1s to 3 damage every 0.1s. Glue attack becomes a single splatter attack with 6 pierce per shot, and shoots every 0.4s. | ||

Strategy[]
Summary[]
As the tower may suggest, the Glue Gunner is all about slowing down bloons. The Glue Gunner also has upgrades for weakening the bloons, corroding them over time for damage, or causing affected bloons to be inflicted extra damage. Bloons can be slowed down for stalling or just giving more time for defenses to handle the bloons. All glues can mix together in BTDB2, so there's no worry to experiment with convoluted intricacies of Glue Prioritization in this game.

Tips[]
- Base Glue is a cheap staller of rounds. It can be bought for cheap to stall natural bloons so that rounds last longer, bringing in more eco, and possibly profiting more than the cost of the Glue itself.
Further Strategies[]
Monkey Mastery[]
Monkey Mastery is unlocked once all of its upgrades are unlocked. Monkey Mastery gives customization which is purchased using XP and Monkey Money. Has a total of 9 customizations available.
Version History[]
Balance Changes[]
Compared to its Battles 1 counterpart, the Glue Gunner is moderately more successful. While it now has an upgrade path dedicated to MOAB slowing, both of its paths could already do that in Battles 1. However, Super Glue has given glue a use case as a cheap defense against DDTs, which are one of the highest threatening type Bloons in the game. Additionally, thanks to the introduction of hypderdense Ceramic rushes, both Glue Storm and The Bloon Solver have effective use cases. The damage debuff Glue Strike generates is also considerable, even if it’s weaker than most other debuffs in the game such as Super Brittle or Cripple Moab. Currently, the only popular glue strat is Boomer-Sub-Glue, which notably uses Glue to stall the rounds to generate more income. For this comp, the Hero choice is Captain Churchill in order to assist the towers with early Ceramics while also helping to greed with Bloon eco.

Relentless Glue: No longer drops any puddles on the track
Relentless Glue: Every time a glued bloon layer gets popped, a small splat occurs which stuns nearby bloons (6 pierce and 12 radius). Stuns bloons for 1s, moabs/DDTs for 0.35s, BFBs for 0.2s, and ZOMGs for 0.1s

| “ | Relentless Glue’s puddles have never felt right on this upgrade path, barely being a noticeable addition in most cases. Therefore, we have removed the puddles and given this upgrade something else to offer instead - greater stalling potential with stunning splats that occur every time a glued bloon is popped. | ” |

Relentless Glue: cost increased $2,000 → $2,200
Relentless Glue: on-pop splats stun ZOMGs for 0.1s → 0.06s
