“ | Geraldo the shopkeeper sells a selection of useful items and zaps Bloons with his lightning attack. | ” |
~ Geraldo description |
Geraldo is a hero in Bloons TD 6, released in update 31.0. He is a Mystic Shopkeeper who carries a wide array of support items in his shop, including road items, single-use abilities, tower boosts, and more. New items unlock with most levels and are purchasable with in-game cash. Only a small number of each item may be purchased in one round, but these items will slowly restock.
Geraldo also fires a lightning attack every 1.1 seconds that deals 1 damage to up to 5 Bloons at Level 1. As an energy attack, it cannot pop Leads or Purples. He also has 40 range, but items can be applied anywhere on the player's side of the map.
He costs $640 on Easy, $750 on Medium, $815 on Hard, and $900 on Impoppable. If Hero Favors is enabled, he will cost $575 on Easy, $675 on Medium, $730 on Hard, and $810 on Impoppable. Geraldo can be unlocked with a one-off purchase of 7000.
Upgrades[]
Geraldo will start upgrading himself every round upon placement. He earns more XP each round to unlock his next upgrade irrespective of how many bloons he pops. His upgrades can also be immediately bought with cash, though the amount of cash required to purchase the next upgrade will typically increase as the upgrades get higher, making self-upgrading an important element for his overall power.
Geraldo upgrades automatically after being placed. His XP requirement ratio is 1x, equivalent to base heroes and Etienne's leveling speed.

Shop[]
- Main article: Geraldo's Shop
Geraldo runs a shop with special items that can be bought with in-game cash. The prices of each item vary with item type and game difficulty (i.e. 85% cost on Easy, 100% on Medium, 108% on Hard, 120% on Impoppable). At level 1, Geraldo starts with Shooty Turrets, Stack of Old Nails, Creepy Idol, and Jar of Pickles. He unlocks more types of items as he levels up. Each product restocks after a certain number of rounds (see #Restocking).
As Geraldo levels up, items are replaced by upgraded versions. The upgrades do not apply to previously-purchased items. He starts upgrading his pre-existing shop items starting from Level 11.
Geraldo's items fall into a few categories:
- Placeable Sub-Towers: Placed like towers, these items have a footprint, range, and selectable menu (except for the Hot Sauce Spirit). They do not receive Alchemist buffs, but they can be buffed by an aura such as Monkey Village, and can be buffed by Geraldo's items (when applicable). All of Geraldo's placeable Sub-Towers have the same footprint, smaller than a Dart Monkey. Most of them have the same range as a Dart Monkey, though Shooty Turret has a longer range, and Genie Bottle has a shorter range.
- Road Items: Placed on the Bloon Track.
- Tower buff: Purchased by dragging onto an eligible tower.
- Pet Rabbit can be placed within Geraldo's range.
- Rejuv Potion can be placed anywhere.
Shooty Turret[]

~ Shop description |
“ | A permanent, hand-crafted dart shooting turret. Upgraded! Fires faster and does more damage. | ” |
~ Shop description after Geraldo reaches Level 13 |
Shooty Turret is a small ballista-like turret that fires arrows at nearby bloons, dealing 2 damage up to 10 bloons every 1.5 seconds. When Geraldo reaches Level 13, new turrets are stocked which deal 5 damage instead and attack every 0.8 seconds. Shooty Turret can be bought for $210 on Easy, $250 on Medium, and $270 on Hard. The maximum amount of Shooty Turrets Geraldo can have in his shop is 4, but there is no explicit limit to the number of Shooty Turrets that can exist on the map. A turret will restock once every 6 rounds.
Shooty Turrets inherit buffs from Geraldo according to a case-specific, and perhaps bugged, ruleset. Shooty turrets do not inherit overclock and alchemist buffs to Geraldo, nor will the benefit from Gerry's Fire. They will benefit from village buffs applied to Geraldo, even when not it range of the village. Any turrets purchased after the village is placed will inherit those pre-existing village buffs. Geraldo's See Invisibility Potion and Jar of Pickles grants all Turrets Camo Detection/extra damage respectively when applied to Geraldo.

“ | Yes it's just a GIANT NAIL MINE but put it anywhere on the track and it'll handily pop those stray Bloons. | ” |
~ Shop description after Geraldo reaches Level 16 |
Stack of Old Nails is a pile of 10 spikes that deal 1 damage each to bloons that come in contact with them. They can only be placed on the track, similar to Road Spikes. Also like Road Spikes, a spike disappears if a bloon comes in contact; if the bloon still is not completely popped then another spike will be spent, and so on. These spikes will NOT pop lead by themselves, even if granted lead popping power.
When Geraldo reaches Level 13, spikes now do 6 damage each, for a total of 60 damage per spike pile. When Geraldo reaches Level 16, Stack of Old Nails becomes a Nail Mine. Each spike now can pop up to 14 bloons instead of 10, and deals +6 damage to Ceramics and +1 damage to Fortified bloons. Once all the nails in Nail Mine are depleted, it creates a small explosion that can pop up to 40 bloons at once, dealing 16 damage, +8 damage to Ceramics and an additional +2 damage to Fortified Bloons. Also applies a burn effect, dealing 1 damage every 2 seconds for 6 seconds. The spikes now can pop lead; the explosion can also pop black bloons.
Stack of Old Nails costs $40 on Easy, $50 on Medium, and $55 on Hard, and $60 on Impoppable. The maximum amount of Stacks of Old Nails Geraldo can have in his shop is 10.

At level 18, when it is sold or expired, it applies a Mystical Shroud to nearby MOAB-class Bloons that creates an explosion when the MOAB-Class are popped.

Geraldo has a solid early-game with his magical zapping electric attack, and comes with a lot of items that can greatly assist the defense. His value can even extend into the extreme late-game for increasing value of Paragon degrees with Level 20, granting the option to buy expensive but super special Paragon totems. As he comes with a variety of different items that can be purchased from his shop, he is extremely flexible on any game mode, including CHIMPS and Deflation. However, he is weakest on Deflation due to only having a one-off sum of starting cash with no cash gained per round. Geraldo offers much more flexibility than all other heroes at the expense of proper resource management and extensive knowledge of the game. Provided all items are utilized optimally and not willy-nilly consumed, Geraldo can be one of the most powerful heroes in the entire game.
Geraldo offers multiple roles that can be utilized for maximum potential. For instance, his Shooty Turrets are mostly oriented in the early-game for cheap but cost-effective popping power. He also comes with multiple buffing options that have various upsides, and sometimes downsides, depending on how they are used (e.g. Jar of Pickles, See Invisibility Potion, Sharpening Stone, Fertilizer). He offers a variety of on-track items (e.g. Stack of Old Nails, Tube of Amaz-o-Glue, Blade Trap) that can be used at will and for stockpiling in case of emergency. Long-term investment options such as Rare Quincy Action Figure and Pet Rabbit can be used to open further into later stages of the game, while instant use items such as Rejuv Potion can turn the tides of an otherwise failing game run. Many of his items last for a limited number of rounds and all items have limited stock, so use them wisely.
Every few rounds, he restocks items at a regular rate of rounds. Consider prospecting the long-term for deciding use of which specific items for what use, and account for the rounds following prior and ahead as well as the timing of payments. Remember to pay attention to cash spendings, rounds prior and ahead, his stock capacity, and his restock rates. Optimizing this careful mix of resources is key for Geraldo's total power.
Each of his items provides a very special benefit that can be utilized for maximum potential. Every item has its own strategy, so research the other pages of his items to optimize those too. For more specific strategy related to his items, refer to the following pages and their respective "Strategy" sections:
- Shooty Turret · Stack of Old Nails · Creepy Idol · Jar of Pickles · Rare Quincy Action Figure · See Invisibility Potion · Tube of Amaz-o-Glue · Sharpening Stone · Worn Hero's Cape · Blade Trap · Gerry's Fire · Fertilizer · Pet Rabbit · Rejuv Potion · Genie Bottle · Paragon Power Totem
Attention to his leveling rate and the development of his levels are key to optimizing his items. In particular, Level 20 Geraldo's full restock is one of the other aspects of him that increases his ultimate power, so choose the best round to place and upgrade him, manually or automatically. Some of his items and strategies surrounding them greatly rely on the round he is placed and the rate at which he earns XP.

Tips[]
- Geraldo can be placed on CHIMPS early on in each game due to his moderate price. Though his Level 1 electric zaps may not be particularly reliable for early rounds, his early shop items are very cheap and can be used to support him adequately through these rounds.
- Geraldo is unable to pop Leads by Round 28, as his electric zaps do not pop Lead and the Gerry's Fire peppers aren't unlocked yet (on easier maps) with insufficient cash.
- None of Geraldo's shop items count to the monkey amount, so you can purchase as many as you want (except for the Worn Hero's Cape in some circumstances) even if there is a max monkeys limit.
- Geraldo can technically give one tower permanent camo detection, because the See Invisibility Potion restocks before the buff runs out.
- However, during a Race Event, using up all his See Invisibility Potions while beating rounds ahead of the previous sequential rounds before sequentially beating rounds will cause him to lack any Camo detection.
- Geraldo restocks his shop entirely by level 20, but this only applies once per player. This can be taken advantage of by timing it so that Geraldo levels up to level 20 between two hard rounds, or outright buying level 20 in the middle of a round to take advantage of combinations, most notably chaining four Rejuv Potions back to back.
- Aura buffs such as the Monkey Village applying to Geraldo also apply the buff to all of Geraldo's shop items, much like how Engineer Monkey's sentries inherit buffs. Essentially, this means that if you use the See Invisibility Potion, the Jar of Pickles, or the Jungle Drums buff on Geraldo, all the Shooty Turrets, Genie Bottles, Gerry’s Fires tied to Geraldo, the Killer Rabbit, and Quincy Action Figure on the map will instantly obtain the same buff.
- This is also true of using the See Invisibility Potion or Jar of Pickles on a different tower with its own subtowers; a notable example is that Gerry's Fires attached to a different tower are affected by the aforementioned items if they are applied to the main tower.
- Geraldo's items still retain round-based lifespan on Apopalypse and Race Events, although there is a possible bug where the Tube of Amaz-o-Glue does not get affected by such.
- Placement of Geraldo himself on the map makes a difference in how he performs in the early-game, as his electric zaps can be utilized for popping a small group of weaker bloons. His placement on the map can also affect late-game in how the player is able to access his shop, since late-game often consists of large visual clutter that reduces his visibility to the player.
- Keep an eye on remaining round durations for all items that last for a limited number rounds. Note that there are timed counters for all of his limited-time buffs, specifically his Jar of Pickles, See Invisibility Potion, Sharpening Stone, Gerry's Fire, and Fertilizer.
- On Least Cash, only use his items if certain that they’ll be necessary for survival. His most notable use is for his Rare Quincy Action Figure, which can give massive profit later in the game for an extremely low base cost.
- Geraldo is significantly strong on Least Tiers, especially Least Tier Boss Events, because his items don't count towards extra tiers and can be spammed for maximum DPS and support. That being said, still avoid over-fixating shopping sprees of his items, or else more important defensive elements would become less affordable.
- Geraldo is a mainstay of Timed Boss Bloon Events, thanks to his ability to cheaply defend early rounds and due to the massive income potential of the Rare Quincy Action Figure and Fertilizer, in addition to the usefulness of Paragon Power Totems. In comparison to Benjamin, he has less income potential for Tier 1 Bosses, but provides much more utility by Tier 2 and beyond.
- Geraldo is a fairly decent Freeplay Hero. While most pay attention to his Paragon Power Totems allowing for Degree 100 Paragons, more notable is that his Worn's Hero's Cape allows for extremely tight placement of Sun Avatars, thanks to the small space that Dart Monkeys take up.
Version History[]
Balance Changes[]
Geraldo, despite his requirement for high maintenace and the design intention for the "best" hero according to Ninja Kiwi, has initially overwhelmed the main meta for almost all CHIMPS and income-generating game modes. He has become a dominant hero since he was released in Version 31.0, particularly by making Advanced and Expert Maps significantly easier while also being capable of flawlessly creating many new community challenge records (e.g. 2TC, 2MPC, LCC). Most of his balance changes have nerfed his "spammable" support-oriented options, as well as reduced some finicky aspects of his items.
Geraldo has initially received balance changes in mini-updates, the first hero to receive an intended balance change in a mini-update. First up, Version 31.1 fixed plenty of unintended interactions, as well as reworking his Paragon Power Totem. Secondly, Version 31.2 gave him the first real balance change, nerfing his base damage. While Geraldo would typically outclass Benjamin in both income generation and utility in all stages of play in Ranked Boss events, the price nerf to Geraldo in 34.0 has significantly impacted early farming by delaying how early the Rare Quincy Action Figure can be bought. While nerfed further in 36.0, he got some buffs to some of his lesser performing items, particularly the Level 17+ Tube of Amaz-o-Glue which had its MOAB-class pierce consumptions halved to avoid that upgrade becoming a downgrade.

- Released
- 31.1
- [bug fix] Worn Hero's Cape no longer allows permanently transformed Super Monkeys to accept Primary Monkey buffs. Can still retain any buff when other supports (e.g. Village) are sold.
- [bug fix] Geraldo's Sharpening Stone no longer increases the number of Bouncing Bullet bullet bounces, only the shrapnel
- [bug fix] Resolved an issue where Geraldo’s Lv18 genie was not gaining its full damage buff on both projectiles
- Level 18+ Genie Bottle increased damage to MOAB class bloons (+5 → +10).
- [bug fix] Geraldo's Lv11 and Lv16 Jar of Pickles now function as described. Level 11-15 additionally gives +1 Fortified damage, while Level 16+ increases bonus Fortified damage from +1 to +2
- [bug fix] Geraldo's Level 19+ camo potion now correctly grants +1 bonus damage to camo
- Geraldo is now limited to one Lv20 restock per game. This is to address an exploit that was counter to the design intent of only one restock
- Note: Ninja Kiwi calls it "not a nerf", but ironically it is a nerf
- Geraldo’s Lv20 paragon totem reworked to give +33% more paragon power but at an increased price
- Paragon Power Totem cost increased ($20,000 → $26,000)
- Paragon Power Totem now gives more power (1,500 → 2,000)
- Ninja Kiwi erroneously claimed the gain was +25%; testing shows it was actually +33% increase, giving 2,000 from 1,500. Also, the price increase isn't "equal" to the gain of totem power; it would be a +30% price increase. Ninja Kiwi corrected the gain to "33%".
- Rohan from Ninja Kiwi admitted that he incorrectly calculated the costs and value increase of the totem. He corrected that the increase of Paragon Power Totem power is actually +33%. The cost is increased by +30% in actuality, not "an equally increased price" as claimed by the patch notes

“ | Many of Geraldo's items are too strong for the required maintenance, Geraldo SHOULD be a top level hero, he is literally designed to be so as the most rewarding for your player knowledge and reaction to moment to moment gameplay, but too many items reward spammable gameplay over these knowledge & reactions so we are targeting a lot of durations/stock amounts with minimal price increases where it feels necessary. These are clearly a lot of small steps, as we did not want to do too many big changes from multiple angles all at once. | ” |
~ Ninja Kiwi |
- Jar of Pickles price increased from $50 → $100
- Jar of Pickles duration reduced from 8 → 5
- Invisibility Potion can no longer target a number of towers that have no attacks: Villages except Primary Expertise and Monkeyopolis, and other technically "non-attacking" towers.

- Tube of Amaz-o-Glue now expires from the track after 4 rounds
- Tube of Amaz-o-Glue pierce reduced from 300 → 100
- [unimplemented] Sharpening Stone now expires after 15 rounds instead of lasting indefinitely

- 36.0
“ | Geraldo has a lot of items that are still undervalued compared to others while Pickles appears to stand far above the rest as the downside for the power increase isn’t quite enough. We’re pulling more of these lower & higher items closer in to the middle | ” |
~ Ninja Kiwi |
- Jar of Pickles rate reduction increased from 1.25x → 1.33x

~ Ninja Kiwi |
- Each Paragon Totem placed now displays a buff icon with a stack count that displays how many are placed.
- Level 5-14 and Level 15+ Sharpening Stones will no longer stack their effects
- Blade Trap now detects camo if Geraldo has camo detection.
- 40.0
“ | Gerry’s Fire functions in a unique way where it can inherit some self-buffing bonuses of the towers that it’s applied to, although a lot of people have pointed out that since Ninja Monkey always has Camo this means it’s the only non-hero tower that gains a Camo Detection but can never pass it on to the Gerry’s Fire as this doesn’t come from an upgrade. We were hesitant to buff this interaction while Geraldo was much more powerful and his synergy with Ninja was already good, but he’s cooled off enough now that we’re happy to try this out. Additionally with Gerry’s Fire one of our programmers was having some fun with it, and we liked what we saw, so that will also be a thing now. | ” |
~ Ninja Kiwi |
- Gerry's Fire now inherits camo detection from innate camo detectors (Ninja, Sauda, Psi, etc.).
- Gerry's Fire now follows the actual flying Monkey Ace or Heli Pilot instead of their pads. Also affects other towers whose base tower is a flying tower. Does not affect other flying towers such as Etienne.

” |
~ Ninja Kiwi, 40.0 preview notes |
“ | We feel the higher level of complexity of Geraldo (along with simply much greater effort required to produce heroes like this) places him up on an elite tier of heroes we don't necessarily want players to jump right into before learning the game more, as we previously announced at the end of last year his unlock cost is now being increased to reflect this. A number of Gerry's items are also being tweaked here along with a base placement cost increase as he is also overperforming in a number of ways compared to other heroes. | ” |
~ Ninja Kiwi, Version 41.0 patch notes |
- Geraldo's Monkey Money unlock cost increased from 5000 to 7000
- Level 15+ Sharpening Stone no longer grants +1 damage

- Gerry's Fire price increased from $500 to $600
- Geraldo placement cost increased from $700 to $750
- Rare Quincy Action Figure price reduced from $750 to $700
- This reduces the cost of the Rare Quincy Action Figure, which slightly reduces the snowball effect of the income generation, but also makes it easier to be purchased.
- 42.0
“ | While we like giving players lots to choose from as early as possible, we’ve seen feedback that the current hero unlock flow can feel overwhelming with all Monkey Money unlockable heroes becoming available immediately at account level 10. To address this, we are spacing this period out with a few different groupings of Hero unlocks and holding back some of the more complex Heroes until account level 35. | ” |
~ Ninja Kiwi, Version 42.0 preview notes |
- Geraldo now unlocks at Level 35 instead of Level 10
- 43.0
“ | Geraldo has been far too powerful for a while and all-round nerfs are coming to many outstanding aspects, however in return a little quality of life is coming with some more forgiving stock capacities and much more flexible Fertilizer; with the % benefit being reduced in return for improved replenish rate, maximum stock and the ability to now work on all Banana Farm types. | ” |

- Level 16+ Jar of Pickles bonus damage to fortified reduced from +2 to +1
- 44.0
“ | Geraldo has pushed the heroes up into a whole new level of power, and tales are being sung of his ability to dodge nerfs blindfolded, but we are cracking down on some of his interactions with a little bit of QoL consistency being added back in the case of creepy idol. | ” |

Bugs[]
- Current
- [31.0] If a transformed Super Monkey is buffed with a Village, its buffs still remain when the Village is sold. Still occurs as of Version 31.0, except to universal Village buffs (e.g. Jungle Drums).
- [42.0] When popping MOAB Class Bloons with Geraldo's default skin, the Gadgeteer skin line for destroying MOAB's will sometimes play instead.
- Patched
- [31.0] Dart Monkeys that have been converted into a Super Monkey will retain most passive Monkey Village buffs, including those from the top upgrade path. The converted Super Monkey does not receive discounts from bottom path villages if it has been converted in the Village's radius. Any buff that is erroneously applied will be removed if a save is reloaded or the Super Monkey is moved away from the Village and then moves back toward it. Discovered on Version 31.0, patched in 31.1.
- [31.0] In Version 31.0, there was a bug that allowed Geraldo's items to use Hard prices on Impoppable. It was patched as of Version 31.1.
- [31.0] While Gerry's Fire is able to target Camo Bloons if given to a tower that was granted detection through an upgrade or an external buff, Ninja Monkeys will not grant camo detection to Gerry's Fire despite having innate camo detection. Patched in 40.0, although Ninja Kiwi stated that this interaction previously was intended but changed in 40.0.
- [44.0] Rejuv Potion was able to restock Geraldo's Shop. See Rejuv Potion#Bugs for further information.

Trivia[]
- Geraldo is only hero (so far) to have an ability at level 1 and only one ability.
- In Ninja Kiwi's Update 31 preview post on r/btd6, they describe him as the builder hero.
- Geraldo is the 7th male hero to be added in Bloons TD 6.
- Geraldo is the second hero whose default skin has a mustache. The first is Striker Jones.
- This is the first hero whose ability only appears whenever accessing his menu.
- Geraldo's Paragon Power Totem is the only available means to access Degree 100 Paragons in singleplayer.
- Geraldo is actually pronounced "her-al-doh", in accordance with Spanish pronunciation, as "Geraldo" is a Spanish masculine name. Much of the Bloons TD 6 community pronounced "Geraldo" as "jer-al-doh", similarly to the name "Gerald" (pronounced "jeh-ruld", "Gerald" is a name of German origin), a German and English masculine name.
- Geraldo himself pronounces his name as "her-al-doh".
- One of the first reveals of Geraldo's voice actor was shown in an email asking the Ninja Kiwi support team.
- As he has a total of 16 unique items in his store with various interactions related to his store, Geraldo currently has the most number of different hero-specific non-quote SFX, excluding skins and Trophy Store items.
- Items appear on his backback as he levels up. However, some items are omitted when he levels up between one stage to another (e.g. missing Gerry's Fire potion when he reaches Level 8, using Level 7 artwork). Several items are not at all visible on his backpack, although possibly implied that they are inside his backpack rather than visible.
- Some of the consistently not visible items on his backpack include: Stack of Old Nails, See Invisibility Potion, Tube of Amaz-o-Glue, Sharpening Stone, Blade Trap, Genie Bottle.
- Of the unique items that have delayed visibility: Rare Quincy Action Figure begins to be visible from Level 3+, Worn Hero's Cape visible from Level 7+, Gerry's Fire and Fertilizer (leaves at back of backpack) from Level 10+, and Rejuv Potion at Level 20.
- Geraldo is the 3rd hero to use a different language other than English, the other heroes being Etienne, Sauda and Rosalia.
- Since the Version 34.0 Geraldo price nerf, Geraldo is the second hero to gain a price nerf that removes the possibility for a hero start on a standard game of CHIMPS, the first being Obyn Greenfoot in Version 11.0. Coincidentally, both heroes are male.
- His voice lines and bio imply that Geraldo has never seen a Moab or any bloons in the Moab Class.
Community achievements[]
- The first Geraldo 2TC is Geraldo + WLP, completed by u/icannotgetaname on r/btd6.
- Geraldo is the second tower capable of completing 1TC, (1 Tower CHIMPS) assuming the map in question is Scrapyard; this is due to the map's crusher, which can pop Leads. The only other tower in BTD6's history to complete 1TC is fellow hero Sauda, prior to her damage rework in Version 27.0.
- Only Rounds 28 and 30 needed to beaten in order for Geraldo 1TC to become possible. This was assisted by using a mix of Tube of Amaz-o-Glue and Creepy Idol to adjust positioning of the Leads such that the crusher can destroy them in a single usage.
- Geraldo has a 2TC combo with Sun Temple (Scrapyard + 1TC + price optimizations) as well as a separate one with Ultraboost (uses Cleansing Foam). These two towers are the only ones that Sauda do not yet have a 2TC on. Neither can save till Super Mines.
- 2TCC (2 Towers Co-Op CHIMPS) is possible with two Geraldos, but requires 1TC work.
- Geraldo has completed multiple 2TC combos on maps that previously weren't done in 2TC before. These include: Spillway, High Finance, Bazaar, Haunted, Another Brick, Bloonarius Prime, Infernal, Off The Coast, Sunken Columns, Chutes, Rake, Underground, Cargo, and Dark Castle.
- 2MPC Geraldo has been completed on Version 31.1 with all 60 maps as of said update, including all Expert Maps, all achieved by as soon as April 26th 2022. This was partly done by a bug with 1-4-0 Snowstorm that applies Permafrost onto MOAB-class bloons.
- Geraldo has multiple 2TC combos on many maps, many of which have combos that consist of only a minimally lead-popping tower within an affordable Round 28 price range.
Cultural references[]
- Some elements of Geraldo may be inspired by the Zelda CDI character Morshu, who is very popular in remix culture. Morshu is also a shopkeeper with a mustache. The BTD6 community has made several comparisons with him and Geraldo.
- The idea that the two are connected is further backed up in the 14th April 2022 blog, where they mention that the exchange rate between Rupees (the currency in The Legend of Zelda's universe) and currency that Geraldo would accept are "terrible."
- Gerry's Fire's description makes mention of 'Bloonville units,' which is a reference to the Scoville scale, used to determine the overall 'hotness' of chili peppers and their products.
- 2.8 million units, the value listed, would theoretically make Gerry's Fire hotter than the Carolina Reaper, the world's hottest chili pepper and Pepper X by a small margin, which became the world's hottest chili pepper in August 2023.
- The merged Pet Rabbit effect may be a reference to the killer rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
- The item shop plays similarly to the Resident Evil series' Merchant.
- When he reaches Level 20, he will say the line "At last! My shop is complete!". This may be a reference to the stage show Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street where the main character says "At last! My hand is complete!".
- The quote, "Thank you, come again!" might be a reference to Apu from the Simpsons, a clerk for Kwik-E-Mart.
- The quote "Curious how they got so much lead in a zeppelin" surely is a reference to the[1] famous group Led Zeppelin. It's not the first time BTD6 makes a reference about it - there already is an avatar in the Trophy Store that pictures a DDT instead of the Zeppelin on the cover of one of the most famous albums of the groups, Mothership.

- According to Ninja Kiwi's 8th April 2022 blog, Geraldo was at the time Ninja Kiwi's most favorite hero by design, although according to them he likely was the least favorite hero to code up by their programmers.

- According to Ninja Kiwi's 22nd April 2022 blog, Geraldo got used to people pronouncing his name incorrectly, partly because he understands that "the customer is always right".
- According to Ninja Kiwi's 29th April 2022 blog, Geraldo's first item found is his backpack, which he has since used to hold his treasures.
- According to Ninja Kiwi's 6th May 2022 blog, Geraldo would be the best at baking among the 14 at-the-time current heroes, while Ezili would be the least best at baking.
- According to Ninja Kiwi's 13th May 2022 blog, Geraldo's power comes mostly from his mustache.
- According to Ninja Kiwi's 22nd July 2022 blog, Geraldo previously worked in a supermarket. Ninja Kiwi suggests that the quote "Cleanup on Aisle 7" has got to do with how he got used to saying it.

- According to Ninja Kiwi's 7th October 2022 blog, Geraldo's bunnies are named Hopsy, Flopsy, Button and Dave.
