Frag Bombs is a Premium Upgrade in Bloons TD 4. It allows bombs from the Bomb Tower to emit 8 sharp frags in an orbital spray on impact, each with 1 pierce. Notably, this allows the Bomb Tower to pop Black Bloons and Zebra Bloons.

In the Flash version and in Bloons TD 4 Expansion, Frag Bombs can be obtained for free with a web Ninja Kiwi account on the Ninja Kiwi Archive, or with 5 Kreds on Kongregate. In the mobile version, Frag Bombs is unlocked after obtaining 10 gold medals.

Strategy

Summary

In addition to allowing the Bomb Tower to damage Black Bloons and Zebra Bloons, Frag Bombs greatly improves the Bomb Tower's effectiveness against MOAB-Class Bloons in particular, as it is able to deal up to 8 extra damage to them per shot. This, in conjunction with MOAB Mauler, renders the Bomb Tower an especially efficient source of DPS against MOAB-Class Bloons.

Tips

• MOAB Mauler with Frag Bombs is very effective for the mid-game of Apopalypse and freeplay runs.
