Follow Touch is a targeting priority for all self-mobile flying units, starting with the Heli Pilot. It is the default targeting priority that flying units Heli Pilot (and Marceline, Ghost Princess, Tiny Manticore, and Martian Transport in Bloons Adventure Time TD) will start off with. The name Follow Touch, the name given in mobile versions, is changed to Follow Mouse in desktop versions.
In mobile versions, it is named Follow Touch, which sets the flying unit to move towards the point last tapped. In desktop versions it is named Follow Mouse, which sets the flying unit to always fly towards the cursor, provided the cursor is within bounds of the game. In Bloons Adventure Time TD, towers instead fly to the last tapped/clicked location on the map, as opposed to the cursor or touch input's current location.
Follow Touch also is a targeting option for Mortar Monkeys in some degree; in Bloons TD 6, the Mortar Monkey is activatable by Level 7+ Striker Jones's Target Focus ability, whereas the Mortar Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2 gets this targeting option by default.
Strategy[]
Summary[]
Follow Touch ensures that player will optimize the position of the Heli to ensure optimizing damage efficiency, since it can be microed to a spot in which all attacks can be properly utilized to its best potential which will happen much more often than if a computer tried to do it. However, this puts a much larger strain on the player attention since now they have to juggle more things at once if the player want to survive. The player needs to ensure that they can handle the extra attention this targeting priority demands before leaving it on this one.
Tips[]
- On mobile devices, try to touch the screen to point where the flyable unit should move towards. On desktop, this is harder to achieve.
