Flying Fortress is the 5th upgrade on Path 3 of the Monkey Ace in Bloons TD Battles 2. Like its BTD6 counterpart, Flying Fortress in this game serves as a major upgrade to Spectre, although it now attacks much faster and deals more damage, and otherwise mostly matching the BTD6 pre-33.0 counterpart.
It shoots three separate streams of dart-and-bomb attacks, each with separate targeting priorities, locked on First, Last, and Strong (rather than Close). Darts deal 12 damage and bombs deal 6 damage, darts deal +2 damage to MOAB-class bloons, and both attacks receive Normal damage type. It attacks every 0.03s, plus more with Rapid Fire. Bombs do not home but darts home slightly better than its BTD6 counterpart.
It costs $75,000, and is unlocked with the other Monkey Ace tier 5 upgrades for 1500.
An expensive DPS option with high range but only marginally useful grouped damage. However, it packs incredible single-target damage with its high-damage darts, making it helpful at getting rid of BADs in extreme late-game. Try making use of Flying Fortress for its universal grouped popping power, particularly against BAD rushes.
Tips[]
2-0-5 is the more recommended crosspath over 0-2-5. 0-2-5 detects camo, and can thus detect DDTs and make use of the lead-and-black-popping power, but 2-0-5 offers a huge DPS increase. This is particularly important when considering the threat of B.A.Ds.
Cleansing Foam is among many anti-camo options that allow 2-0-5 Flying Fortress to see DDTs, and Engineer is often a great combo with Flying Fortress because of its great synergy with Overclock's buffs.
Unlike its BTD6 counterpart, Flying Fortress may need more help to beat B.ADs, especially given the limited choices of loadouts that optimize Flying Fortress. It appreciates greatly from support options such as Homeland Defense and Overclock, both of which can compensate for much of the Flying Fortress's camo weaknesses and optimize its attack speed.

As some of the most expensive Monkey Ace upgrades, we felt the Spectre and Flying Fortress could do with a damage and efficiency buff to justify their cost.
We are hoping to encourage Ace to be utilized more with […] bigger buffs to Spectre and Flying Fortress since they don’t quite hold up to their high price tags.
