First targeting for a Crushing Sentry in Bloons TD 6

First is a target priority, first released in Bloons TD 1. It is the default target priority of the majority of the towers in the game, and is the only target priority in BTD1 and BTD2. Towers set on the First target priority will target the bloon that is the closest percentage to the exit within its visible range.

In Bloons TD iOS, on tracks with multiple lanes, it instead calculates the bloon that has traveled the most units, thus if there are multiple lanes with different lengths, bloons that have traveled a smaller percentage of the track, but has technically moved more units, will be targeted first instead.

There are a few exceptions to the First target priority. Etienne, who operates drones, each have their own separate target priority. He has limited options to change each drone's target priority. However, he does have a universal First targeting priority; setting his targeting priority to First causes all of his drones to target First.

In Bloons TD 6, some attacks are locked on First. These include, but are not limited to:

Summary[]

As the original and default target priority for the majority of towers in the series, First targets bloons that are the furthest % to the exit, making it generally the safest option to go for towers that can handle the hordes of bloons effectively, like Bloonjitsu. However, it has it flaws. This targeting can cause slow but high damaging attacks like Maim MOAB or MOAB Mauler, to waste its damage on weak bloons that other towers deal with more efficiently. This is especially notable when fighting MOAB-class bloons, as all but the DDT are slower than regular bloons, which end up too behind the weaker but faster bloons.
