Monkey Farmer is a premium ally in Bloons Adventure Time TD, introduced on March 14th 2019. It keeps its purpose of collecting dropped items from the other BTD games. However, it can only be obtained via a one time purchase of $2.99 USD or from Legendary Wish Orbs. The monkey itself costs $200 in-game cash to place, with a display range of 8 and infinite collect range. The player can add even more farmers in game if they buy upgrades that increase quantities of said ally. It can be equipped to any character, similar to the Business Men ally. It is quite a good idea to place it if you're going for a hardcore farming strategy, especially if you're also using BMO.

Pros
  • Harvests all collectibles
Cons
  • Doesn't attack

Strategy[]

Summary[]

The premise of using Monkey Farmer is easy: place him anywhere on screen and he will be able to collect all collectables with little trouble. It does not matter where he is placed, although it is best to place him away from locations where most attacking towers concentrate. Because his collection range is infinite, he can even extend to areas normally unreachable by hand, such as Thought Cannon Wand loot spawning at the edges of the screen. However, the real challenge is getting Monkey Farmer in the first place.

Simply speaking, to get Monkey Farmer without resorting to in-app purchases, play the game regularly and hope for special events that involve collection events (e.g. Joshua and Margaraet Investigations), which guarantee Legendary Wish Orbs upon completion. There is no real strategy besides waiting, grinding, and hoping for RNG to be favorable.

Tips[]

  • Once you obtain him, always have him equipped when doing any kind of collectable farming. Make sure to equip him to a character who have the least equipping potential for multiple strong allies. Good candidates include Flame Princess, Ice King, and Marceline.
  • Due to low starting cash, the player may not want to place down a Monkey Farmer on the first round to focus on essential attacking and income-generating towers. Once the player can manage a stable income flow, the cost of Monkey Farmer is negligible.

Trivia[]

  • The Farmer's also the only ally to have no upgrades as it doesn't attack or provide boosts to other characters in the game.
  • The player is allowed to obtain more than one Monkey Farmer from Legendary Wish Orbs, unlike from the Store.
  • Surprisingly, the Monkey Farmer has all the standard targeting options from most towers.
  • There is a short delay before the Monkey Farmer pulls in each collectable and collects it. Because of this, the player can collect the collectables while they are moving towards the Monkey Farmer.
  • Monkey Farmer's collection can be stopped by stunning effects that appear in maps like Reconditioning Chamber and Flame Kitchen. It can be mitigated by spreading out with multiple Farmers or placing them away from stun locations via Lady Rainicorn.
    • In Wizard Royale, because the wizards attack any tower regardless of placement location, the only way to always have farmer collection at all times is to have more than one Farmer placed.
    • It takes up to three Monkey Farmers to achieve true collection uptime in Wizard Royale with Wizard Attack.
  • Owning one Monkey Farmer (or even more than one, up to ten) comes with secondary benefits for the player, sometimes owing to the fact that Farmers can also be used even in No Allies. Aside from being used as "distractions" for the aforementioned wizards' attacks and Magic Man's abductions even when no sentry summoning options are available, the Farmers can be used during Martian Games with Shuffle where the player can exploit the tower swapping mechanic to move important towers for a low cost without selling them. Additionally, the player can directly control where Farmers are placed, unlike the sub-towers being summoned on random locations.
  • Monkey Farmer is the only Legendary Ally who is also a monkey.
