“ | Finn is always ready with his sword to do what is right. In this case, pop lots and lots of bloons. | ” |
~ BATTD description |
“ | Slashes at nearby bloons with his sword. | ” |
~ Short description |
Finn is a Character in Bloons Adventure Time TD. He has a short range, attacks with a sword (similar to Sauda from Bloons TD 6, although she was added after him), and is the first tower in entire game to keep hold of a damage-causing object. He is unlocked as soon as players begin the game in Treefort Exterior where he is joined by Max.
He has two basic attack patterns, charging and slashing. While slashing is what every sword user does, charges allows to pierce targets slightly outside his range with the sword's length being the limit, if some target in range makes him charge in its direction. He attacks with his right hand, and while slashing, hits bloons counter clock wise, when piercing multiple of them.
Finn has an alternate version called Dungeon Finn, which requires an in-app purchase of $9.99 USD or spending 75,000 Martian Crystals at the Martian Trader to obtain him.
Description[]
Finn is a thin, light-skinned Human sporting a sky blue t-shirt, blue shorts, black shoes and green backpack. His head is primarily covered by a large, white hat with a face opening. When attacking the bloons, he slashes at them with his sword of choice, which can change depending on the type of sword equipped.

Star Boost[]
Finn will receive the following permanent boosts as he levels up:
- 2 stars - Base attack cooldown decreased by 0.1*
- 4 stars - Base attack pierce increased by 2
- 6 stars - Base range increased by 5
- 8 stars - Base attack pierce increased by 2
- 9 stars - Base attack cooldown decreased by 0.1*
- 10 stars - Base attack damage increased to 2, base MOAB only damage increased to 4
*Shows "attack speed increased by X" in the official patch notes and in the game - this is misleading. The attack speed stat is the inverse of attack cooldown.

Strategy[]
Finn is a melee fighter, meaning he must be placed close to the track, if track is straight, making some situations difficult to utilize his utmost potential due to crowding of other towers or lack of a major corner to maximize time spent by bloons inside his swinging distance. To compensate for this downside, Finn is cheap and attacks quite fast, making him a good option for early game.
Finn often performs best when paired with other nearby towers, as his two separate team upgrades allow him to specialize into two areas. Bound By Word in conjunction with Princess Bubblegum's Royal Promise permanently gives a further major boost to his attack speed, but at the risk of losing a large amount of lives (50 lives to be exact) if player loses lives (i.e. bloons leaking) or sells either Finn or PB. On the other hand, Bro Fist with Jake is a good choice for some extra income and heals 10 lives per round (5 rounds are needed to heal off a Royal Promise penalty), which helps if the player typically fails to counteract rushes on a chronic basis or just healing off one major rush.
When equipping Finn with trinkets and weapons, prioritize speed over damage. As such, the Finn Sword (boosting his speed by at least 40%) is a great choice for a weapon. The Super Rare Grass Sword may be used as a substitute if the player has a dearth of Epic orbs. or the untransformed Unimaginably Amazing Sword if that's what you have. He can gain many speed boosts from trinkets like Baker's Shard, Black Bow Tie, and Bubblegum's Hair as well. On top of that, Princess Bubblegum's Royal Promise makes him almost always use Flying Kick. Alternatively, you can utilize these speed boosts in conjunction with the 4D Sword to give him a high chance of instantly killing any MOAB that gets in his range.
From here, Finn has two specialized setups, both relying on his high speed, known as Missile Finn and Eco Finn.
- Missile Finn is an exclusively offensive build relying on the Missile to greatly increase Finn's anti-blimp damage. The Missile, providing 30 MOAB damage per shot, stacks with speed boosts and Royal Promise. Note that the Missile from Missile Finn is not hindered by damage-boosting trinkets or upgrades.
- Eco Finn's goal is to have Finn extract the most income possible from his attacks. In order to do this, attack damage boosts are avoided in favor of speed boosts. There are two major sources of income. The Thief King's Dagger gives $2 of cash for each attack Finn lands; boosting his attack speed thus increases the amount of cash generated by the dagger. A greater source on income is derived from a glitch involving King of Ooo's Scepter's gold effect stacking on top of Dr. Monkey's alchemy, greatly increasing cash per golden bloon pop. These sources of income may have their earnings doubled by a Banana Replicator, making the total amount of cash when a bloon is popped 400$ (Using the aforementioned glitch).
The two setups are mutually exclusive, since the Missile does not trigger money-boosting effects and will destroy bloons before Finn can extract the most money out of them.
Other than his short range, Finn's other weaknesses are complete lack of Camo Bloon detection and Lead Bloon popping power without support. This also leaches out some of his MOAB-Class prowess, as DDTs are fast and have properties of a Camo Bloon and a Lead Bloon, meaning that they can't be attacked, or damaged by him without help of equipment or other Characters. This problem is further elaborated upon in the Hall-ooo-ween event, where Finn's physical attacks being unable to harm Ghost Bloons makes MOABs with the property completely immune to his attacks. Such Ghost Bloon problem can only be countered if equipped with Fire Sword or Glob's Helmet, allowing him to damage Ghost Bloons.
Camo detection may be granted by Glasses of Nerdicon (or Night Vision X-Ray Goggles if players do not have the former). Lead popping ability can be obtained from equipping a Vorpal Hand or Nothung. Dr. Monkey can be paired with Finn to strip both camo and lead layers.

Trivia[]
- There is a hidden achievement in Bloons Adventure Time TD that players can unlock by having Finn, Princess Bubblegum and Flame Princess on the map at the same time.
- When done, players get an achievement named "Awkward...". It gives the player an Uncommon Wish Orb.
- If the player waits around on the character screen, Finn will quickly shake his head in both directions before looking straight again.
- This idle animation can also be seen ingame from a different angle.
- Finn has no special leveling up animation. Instead, he humbly stands with his signature Scarlet sword.
- The concept for the Bloons TD 6 hero Sauda takes some elements of Finn, mainly because Sauda bases her main attack based on Finn's sword attack.
- Finn may be comparable to Sauda in Bloons TD 6.
- Finn is the first "tower" to be the first playable character/unit in any Bloons game who is not a Dart Monkey or any variation of Super Monkey, is human, has no tail, uses a sword, has audio for in-game dialogue, and is a melee attacker by default.
- So far, the first playable characters in these games still are primates and primarily sharp weapon users.
- While playing a Martian Games event with Send In The Clones, only one Finn may be upgraded to Big Hearted Hero.
- For all others, the upgrade is locked and displays the message "Locked by purchasing Big Hearted Hero already" instead.
