Faster Throwing is the 1st upgrade of Path 3 (2nd upgrade of Path 3 prior to Version 21.0) for the Alchemist in Bloons TD 6. It increases the Alchemist's attack speed by +25%, including support potions (e.g. Acidic Mixture Dip, Berserker Brew, etc.). The main attack increases from 0.5 attacks per second to 0.625 attacks per second (decreases attack cooldown from 2s to 1.6s). AMD attack cooldown reduces to 8.0s, and brews to 6.4s. Also decreases Transforming Tonic's ability laser attack cooldown from 0.03s to 0.024s.

This upgrade costs $550 on Easy, $650 on Medium, $700 on Hard, and $780 on Impoppable.

Appearance[]

The Alchemist wears single-lens goggles with pink lenses. With Berserker Brew or Stronger Stimulant, that single-lens goggles receives orange lenses instead.

Targeting Priorities[]

Faster Throwing throws potions in a lobbed arc at bloons according to targeting priority.

First: Targets the first bloon visible within its range.
Last: Targets the last bloon visible within its range.
Close: Targets the closest bloon visible within its range.
Strong: Targets the strongest bloon visible within its range.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

For a simple upgrade, Faster Throwing is a powerful upgrade for the Alchemist. Instead of just being an offensive boost akin to most of the other tier 1 and 2 upgrades, this upgrade allows for the increased throwing of acid and potions, allowing for more powerful upgrades to be pumped out faster. Hence, Acidic Mixture Dip, Berserker Brew and Stronger Stimulant can be applied to more towers and allows them to be more consistently empowered at a time, allowing for the Alchemist to increase in performance quite dramatically when following Path 1.

In combination with Path 2, it can also stand its ground against a larger splash by having a greater rate of the concoction potion. In addition, Transforming Tonic becomes a far better general DPS option by attacking +25% faster as opposed to an equivalent of +50% pierce with the opposite crosspath.

Tips[]

At only +25% attack speed, Faster Throwing should be added as a crosspath rather than purely an upgrade, unless going for its higher-tier upgrades such as Lead to Gold.
A 4-0-1 Alchemist with Jungle Drums can reliably buff 3 towers within its range as opposed to 2.

Version History[]

In Version 21.0, Acid Pools and Faster Throwing swapped upgrade order, which arguably is a buff to this upgrade, as it costs a lot less to obtain aforementioned upgrade due to not needing to buy Acid Pool.
