Fertilizer is an item purchasable in Geraldo's Shop. It is a single-use item that can be given to any Banana Farm. It provides affected Banana Farms with +20% increased value of income for 4 rounds, excluding from abilities.
Banana Farms with Fertilizer have a buff icon of a Fertilizer icon. Thin fumes from the stinky fertilizer regularly appear while the buff is active. Flies can also be seen buzzing around the buffed Banana Farm. On higher-tier upgrades, the flies buzzing around reflect the buffed state instead.
Fertilizer is unlocked by getting Level 9+ Geraldo. It costs $255 on Easy, $300 on Medium, $325 on Hard, $360 on Impoppable. The maximum number of Fertilizer Geraldo can have in his shop is 4, and they take 3 rounds to restock.
Strategy[]
Summary[]
Fertilizer is an extremely effective item that allows for a much greater farm production for a small cost. This is especially handy for Banana Plantations and above, as the total sum of the value increase offsets the initial cost of Fertilizer. Altogether, Fertilizer rewards the player for utilizing high-tier Banana Farms that produce collectables, in addition to expanding Geraldo's income-generating potential.
Note that Fertilizer is always stronger on the highest possible tier Farms with the Valuable Bananas upgrade, giving a much higher amount of income for the same duration of 5 rounds. Because of this, the best strategy is to simply keep applying Fertilizer on the highest-tier Farms whenever possible for the maximum income bonus. This income generation buff on Farms can also stack on top of other buffs such as Monkey City or Overclock.
On a normal Banana Farm, bananas affected by Fertilizer essentially gain +$4 per banana. For Valuable Bananas, bananas gain +$5 per banana, or +$6 with More Valuable Bananas due to rounding. Fertilized Banana Research Facility crates reward +$60 each, +$75 with 4-2-0 ($78 with More Valuable Bananas). Banana Central gets the biggest benefit, +$240 at base or +$300 with 5-2-0 (+$450 with More Valuable Bananas).
Tips[]
- The single best tower to use Fertilizer on is a 5-2-0 Banana Central, increasing the base income of each crate to $1875 without other forms of income. For maximum Central income, double buff this with Ultraboost.
- It is worth remembering that Fertilizer only works on Banana Farms. Even if another tower can produce collectable income such as Monkeyopolis or Elite Sniper, they cannot receive the effect.
- Since More Valuable Bananas increases bananas from $25 to $26, a further 1.2x income bonus would multiplicatively stack to $32 per banana, thus a reward of $6 per banana.
- For Boss Bloon Events, buffing Banana Central with Monkey City, Overclock, and Ultraboost in addition to the Fertilizer boost will quickly generate massive amounts of money.
- Fertilizer actually causes Geraldo's late-game income generation to be superior to Benjamin's, although Benjamin can snowball in the early game quicker.
- Fertilizer also affects Monkey Wall Street end-of-the-round income, but does not affect IMF Loan and Monkey-Nomics ability.
