Faster Barrel Spin versus base Dartlings

Faster Barrel Spin is the 2nd upgrade of Path 2 for the Dartling Gunner. Functionally equivalent to its BTD6 counterpart, it gives +50% attack speed for a lower cost than that counterpart. Without additional crosspaths, attack cooldown decreased from 0.2s to 0.133s.

Faster Barrel Spin costs $500 in-game cash and is unlocked for free once the Dartling Gunner is purchased for the first time.

Strategy

Summary

This upgrade greatly empowers DPS of the Dartling Gunner for a rather low cost. It is cheaper than Powerful Darts while still advancing in the early-game, and it comes as a valuable crosspath later on in the game. It also comes with camo detection thanks to its previous Advanced Targeting upgrade, making it one of the better crosspaths for Dartling in almost all cases.

Tips

• Getting this upgrade paired with Powerful Darts can allow just one Dartling Gunner to solo Spaced Whites comfortably.
• While Faster Barrel Spin is cheaper than Powerful Darts, a 0-2-0 Dartling does not output as much grouped DPS as 0-0-2. However, Faster Barrel Spin is noticeably better against spaced bloons due to the bonus attack speed offering more consistency.
