Extended Range is an attack style characterized by an attack that extends range beyond its given base range. It is part of the damage types family.
Extended Range is represented on Bloons Wiki as , the upgrade icon for Long Range in Bloons TD 6, as this depicts a projectile going over a mountain. This is because the name of the upgrade is a bit like "long range", but that upgrade technically does not fit under Extended Range and is only described as the aforementioned Buccaneer upgrade for aesthetic reasoning.
It is different from Full Map Range as its main attack is limited to its base range and it is rather a separate attack that has the Full Map Range . It is different from Whole Screen because it only affects a certain part of the screen and not the entirety of it.
An example of this is Advanced Intel Subs, as they get this attack style very cheaply compared to other options. Master Bomber is a key example of Extended Range. Buckshot is not included because while it does attack beyond its "dummy range", it is not its true range, and thus, it should not be counted as Extended Range. In fact, upgrading to Buckshot actually reduces range since it turns the Dartling from having unlimited range (barring Line of Sight) into a Dartling that has limited range, the player just won't see the circle to precisely see its effective range. Ace isn't Extended Range because for the same reasons for Buckshot. Heli pilot isn't considered Extended Range because it requires the actual Heli Pilot to be in range of the Bloons to attack.
Spike-O-Pult is not considered Extended Range because bloons have to be in the range of the Spike-O-Pult in order for it to shoot.
Primary Expertise's Mega Ballista attack may seem like extended range due to the fact that the range bubble does cover some difference from the village, but that is merely an indicator of where towers will get the buff. The Mega Ballista can attack anywhere on the screen and thus is counted as Full Map Range .
