Dynamic Targeting mortar on Dense targeting
Dynamic Targeting is the first upgrade of Path 3 for the Mortar Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2, and a replacement for Increased Accuracy in Version 4.3. Unlike its counterpart in Bloons TD 6, Dynamic Targeting does not decrease explosion deviation, but rather gives Mortar 2 new targeting options:
- Strong - Mortar Monkey will automatically target the strongest bloon on screen
- Dense - Mortar Monkey will target the densest clumps of bloons.
It costs $400.
Strategy[]
Summary[]
This upgrade is useful both as a stepping stone for Burny Stuff and for minimising micro intensity. Certain targeting options are more viable depending on which upgrade path was chosen.
Tips[]
- Strong targeting is a good choice for Artillery Battery and Pop and Awe for damaging stronger blimps such as ZOMG and BAD. Shattering Shells may also see use during mid rounds, but it is preferred to use manual targeting for de-fortifying.
- Dense targeting is a better choice for The Big One and The Biggest One for handling denser clumps of MOAB-class bloons and ceramics.
Version History[]
- 4.3
- Introduced as a replacement for Increased Accuracy upgrade.
| “ | The randomness of the Mortar has never been popular and the xx1 upgrade has often felt like a tax to remove RNG than an upgrade in its own right. The new Dynamic Targeting upgrade will hopefully give interesting crosspath options to the other upgrades, allowing the Mortar to easily focus fire on strong MOABs or maximise the impact of stunning by automatically aiming for the densest cluster of bloons. Manual targeting will likely still remain the most consistent option for effects like Signal Flare and Burny Stuff that just want to hit every bloon once. | ” |
