Destroyer is the 3rd upgrade of Path 1 for the Monkey Buccaneer in Bloons TD Battles 2. It is a major speed buff to the Buccaneer, just like its BTD6 counterpart. The speed bonus is 5x compared to 2-1-0, or +200% speed for grapes if crosspathed with 3-1-0 or 3-2-0, and produces 10-grape sprays with those crosspaths. Dart attack cooldown decreases to 0.1275s. Its cumulative costs are slightly higher than in BTD6.

It costs $2,700, and is unlocked with the purchase of Monkey Buccaneer.

Its high attack speed that makes it a very powerful tower that can't pop lead or camo unless the hot shots (for leads) or crows nest (for camo) upgrade is bought.

The middle path adds 10 burning grape projectiles that will fire along with the darts. For the most part, grape shot is a must have on this tower as the grapes will attack as fast as the darts do, increasing the projectiles five fold. Hot shots is mostly unneeded unless you don't have enough lead popping power, specifically for DDTs, if you choose to use a destroyer for DDT defense.

The bottom path provides additional range, pierce, and camo detection and for the most part, should not be used unless it is your only camo defense option, but at that point 0-3-2 Cannon Ships would yield better results. You could probably find some success in a 3-0-2 during a camo rush, but it would probably be outclassed by a Cannon Ship.

Tips[]

If you do not have the funds to get Monkey Pirates, then a 3-2-0 Buccaneer can serve as a powerful, albeit pricey, alternative to the Cannon Ship due to its impressive fire rate.
A 3-2-0 Destroyer does much better DPS than a 3-0-2 Destroyer, maximizing the much faster hot grapes rather than the benefit of a little more pierce and extra projectile speed. However, since the Path 2 crosspath lacks any camo detection, one might consider bringing a village for camo detection on the 3-2-0.
Destroyer pairs well with Embrittlement, particularly with a Boat-Ice strategy when fighting early MOABs and groups of BFBs.
