Defend Mode is a mode in Bloons TD Battles and Bloons TD Battles Mobile where the player cannot send bloons but can earn income boosts to earn extra Cash. Like all modes, the loser is the player who loses all of their lives first or disconnects from the servers first.
Players start out with $60 income ($75 in mobile), and can increase it through income boosts.
Income Boosts may be bought, which increase income per 6 seconds by a certain amount, depending on type. Each gives a different amount of income and require a different cooldown, though it is possible to buy a different type of income boost while another type is recharging. The types of boosts are listed below:
- Small income boost - Increases income by $2. Cost: $50. Takes 150 seconds to "break even", as in, pay for itself. Cooldown is 3 seconds.
- Medium income boost - Increases income by $15. Cost: $300. Takes 120 seconds to break even. Cooldown is 12 seconds.
- Large income boost - Increases income by $70. Cost: $1,000. Takes approximately 90 seconds to break even. Cooldown is 60 seconds.
- Huge income boost - Increases income by $700. Cost: $7,500. Takes approximately 66.6 seconds to break even. Cooldown is 180 seconds.
Max income is $3000 (or $4000 in mobile), but you can still get more cash from banana farms, wired funds, support chinook, and supply drop.
The best way to make income is to go for the Large Income Boost ASAP, however you need to sacrifice most of your lives to do this. You could place a tower to fend off the first round or two, then sell it to go for the Large Income Boost.
Once you reach 400 income, you want to go for the Huge Income Boost. After that, spam the other boosts until you've reached 2300 income (or 3300 in mobile) and then use one last Huge Income Boost to reach the income limit.
