Nail gun and Sentry shots do extra damage to MOAB-Class and Fortified Bloons.
”
~ In-game description
Deconstruction is the 2nd upgrade of Path 2 for the Engineer Monkey in Bloons TD 6. It grants the Engineer +1 damage to Fortified and MOAB-class bloons (+2 to Fortified MOAB-class), including newly spawned sentries that are produced by the Engineer. Newly deployed traps with this crosspath no longer consume extra RBE from Fortified Bloons, only consuming RBE as if they weren't Fortified.
Engineers with Deconstruction sport a yellow jacket, red helmet, and a white pencil with blue lead, and a pink eraser. Only the jacket and pencil remain constant when used as a crosspath.
The Engineer with Deconstruction now deals +1 damage to Fortified and MOAB-class bloons (+2 to Fortified MOAB-class), including newly spawned sentries that are produced by the Engineer. Traps with this crosspath ignore additional RBE from Fortified properties.
Targeting Priorities[]
Deconstruction targets bloons using the standard targeting priorities. It shoots straight movement projectiles.
First: Targets the first bloon visible within its range.
Last: Targets the last bloon visible within its range.
Close: Targets the closest bloon visible within its range.
Strong: Targets the strongest bloon visible within its range.
Costs[]
Updated as of Version 44.0. Listed prices exclude external buffs, any sacrifices, and Monkey Knowledge.

Strategy[]
Summary[]
If extra MOAB-class popping power is needed, Deconstruction is the upgrade to get. For a rather low price, adding it with Sentry Gun will improve the Engineer's blimp-popping power by a large margin. This upgrade makes the greatest difference when combating early MOABs.
Tips[]
Do buy this upgrade for improving blimp damage overall. Remember, it improves the nailgun and any spawned sentries.
It is a lot more cost-efficient to pair this upgrade with Path 1 in order to make the most of the added extra blimp damage potential.
When it comes to just the main Engineer's nailguns, it is less cost-efficient to go for one 0-2-0 Engineer than it is to buy three 0-0-0 Engineers for similar cost, but it is more efficient than adding two 0-1-0 Engineers.
The Deconstruction upgrade can be paired with Double Gun for the Engineer itself, but it is generally better to add Sentry Gun for the Double Gun when it comes to extra blimp damage.
Reason: Change the indented "affected by X" with something more descriptive; these buffs aren't trivial.
Deconstruction's value had been adjusted when Larger Service Area got a major price cut, but remained relatively useless until the upgrade's damage bonuses could also be applied to sentries.

To add a bit of quality of life solving problems with trap needing to fill once before moving to target location, Bloontraps placed off-track never being able to fill, and maybe even to just add some interesting micro, any Bloontraps will now become expired after a short delay when their Engineer has a new target set.

Trivia[]
Until the price adjustment to Deconstruction in Version 21.0, the Engineer was the only tower to have all Tier 2 upgrades cheaper than their respective preceding Tier 1 upgrades.
Deconstruction is the act of removing building components, comparable to reverse construction. It is different from demolision by its intricate dismantling of every component of a building, rather than quickly destroying a building in an expedient way.
