20 damage per shot, plus bonus damage to Ceramics.
~ In-game description

Deadly Precision is the 3rd upgrade of Path 1 for the Sniper Monkey in Bloons TD 6. It now deals 35 damage to Ceramics and 20 damage to other bloons. If crosspathed with Shrapnel Shot, its shrapnel pieces will deal 4 damage instead of 2 from Large Calibre.

This upgrade costs $2,550 on Easy, $3,000 on Medium, $3,240 on Hard, and $3,600 on Impoppable.

Description[]

Overview[]

Deadly holdgun

Two 3-0-0 Deadly Precision Snipers, one standing still and the other posing

The Sniper Monkey now wears a black suit and black beret, and his rifle now has two red bands and a laser sight. In the portrait artwork, the Sniper also now has a scar across his left eye.

Crosspathing with Path 3 upgrades, changes the beret to receive two colored stripes on the beret. Crosspathing with Path 2 upgrades adds extra apparatus and beret symbols; adding Night Vision Goggles will give the monkey night vision goggles, while Shrapnel Shot adds an explosion symbol to the beret.

Deadly Precision increases the base damage of the Sniper's attack to 20, and grants it +15 damage to Ceramics, allowing it to easily one-shot Ceramics and two-shot Super Ceramics. Additionally, with Shrapnel Shot, its shrapnel does 4 damage per chunk and gains 3 pierce, as well as inheriting Normal type damage from Full Metal Jacket.

Targeting Priorities[]

Deadly Precision targets bloons using the standard targeting priorities. It shoots a snipe attack.

  • First: Targets the first bloon visible within its range.
  • Last: Targets the last bloon visible within its range.
  • Close: Targets the closest bloon visible within its range.
  • Strong: Targets the strongest bloon visible within its range.

Can receive Camo Prioritization with Night Vision Goggles, allowing it to prioritize Camo Bloons over other types.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

Deadly Precision is viable as an early mid-game upgrade for eliminating Ceramics and chipping down health of early MOABs, all with the advantage of unlimited range. Set the Deadly Precision Sniper on Strong to take advantage of its relatively high single-target damage. With the 3-0-2 crosspath, one Deadly Precision can solo a whole MOAB on short maps when supported by another tower for the Ceramics, such as a 0-1-2 or 1-0-0 Ice Monkey, or Psi Level 7+.

Tips[]

  • Set it to Strong targeting as it gains higher value from targeting MOABs and Ceramics.
  • Deadly Precision does decent damage against early MOABs and Ceramics and has the additional benefit of global range.
  • One 3-0-2 Sniper is very helpful on #Ouch due to its global range and instakill Ceramic power on pre-Freeplay rounds.
  • The better crosspath for Deadly Precision is 3-0-2 for most occasions, as giving the Sniper with just over double attack speed greatly increases its reliability at tackling the stronger bloons. The shrapnel from 3-2-0 is powerful, dealing 4 damage per shrapnel piece, but it is quite slow and has the potential to backfire at groups of Ceramics.

Version History[]

Balance Changes[]

As competition against Semi-Automatic in mid-game prowess, Deadly Precision aims to specialize in destroying mid-game Ceramics. The addition of Fortified Ceramics meant that Deadly Precision formerly couldn't actually one-shot a Ceramic technically in a normal game, so it has since been given some extra Ceramic damage to compensate this.

Deadly Precision, like many other Sniper Monkey upgrades, have received crosspathing changes aimed to discourage exclusively Path 3 crosspathing. For this upgrade, the damage buffs to Shrapnel Shot had some impact, but not significantly enough to make 3-2-0 worthy of use.

Trivia[]

  • The purchase of Deadly Precision in BTD6 on Medium will save exactly $1,700 compared to BTD5, excluding additional crosspathing. This is due to both Large Caliber and Deadly Precision discounts.
  • Out of all Tier 3 Sniper upgrades in BTD6, Deadly Precision is the cheapest. In BTD5, Deadly Precision is the most expensive Tier 3 Sniper upgrade, even in Bloons TD Battles Mobile.
  • Deadly Precision is the only Sniper Monkey in BTD6 to have clothing covering only its upper legs. If looked closely, the monkey wears black compressionwear on the lower part of its body.
  • In the original upgrade description of Deadly Precision for BTD6, it was the exact same as that in BTD5 Mobile.
