Currency is a system of money. It is the method by which quantitative value is ascribed to a certain task or achievement, allowing players to exchange this tally for desirable purchases. In the Bloons Series, In-Game or Primary Currency refers to the cash or money earned for popping each bloon. This money is usually used to buy towers and upgrades. Secondary currency, such as Monkey Money, is currency which can purchase primary currency as well as other in-game boosts and out-of-game items. Secondary currency is earned for completing certain maps or achievements. Out-of-Game or External currency is a currency that has no relation to currency spent in game. Trophies are one such example. Real Money refers to real world money like US Dollars which is obtained and used in the real world.
Throughout the Bloons Series, there have been a number of in-game, secondary, and out-of-game currency systems.
