High tier CTs are still really difficult. At this point though you should have (hopefully) a lot of upgrades. Getting temples up with a lack of bombs can also prevent you from getting very high. This map also might force you to use boats if you want to go high round, so try Monkey Pirates, especially for DDT's.

-Early MOAB SHREDDR spikes can be essential due to the fact that DDT's come before ZOMG's.
-Dartling guns and ice towers make a great use for MOAB's AND bloons. Just make sure you got something for DDT's.

(NEW MAP) Using camo protection is essential, as they will end you. This may be hard to achieve with the "No Ninjas" restriction.

Revision as of 21:09, 8 December 2014

This page contains strategies and tips for Contested Territory.

General

Strategies

  • Plan for the late game. Use Banana Farms, and use Monkey Villages. Remember that 5 2/0 farms give $1950 per round, so they will give $39000 after 20 rounds. Subtracting the money spent on the farms, and adding the amount earned from selling, the net gain is a huge $36,300.
    • But players are still advised to include multiple Banana Research Facilities in their defense set-ups. (This is the best way to gain Max Temples and level 36-40 cities can have up to 6 of them)
    • If the terrain forbids the use of farms, use Supply Drops with High Energy Beacon.
      • As of 14/10/14, you can also use Bloon Traps, which is much cheaper than Supply Drops in-game
  • Don't be scared of losing a few lives, or even all but one life. The Spike Factory + Farm strategy is useful for good income. Although early rushes will hurt you, they won't end your game, and the money in the late game more than makes up for it.
    • Remeber, CT is the freeplay mode of Monkey City and as always, the 2 only ways to end freeplay mode are to quit or lose all lives.
  • Watch out for DDTs. They first appear on rounds 30-33, with lots more later on. Some even appear at the beginning of certain rounds and will try to rush you in large numbers. If you must, use the Monkey Boost for the first set.
  • Don't be afraid to use Bloonstones. A well-timed Monkey Boost costs BloonstoneIcon5, but winning the territory gives you 50.
  • Collect your money if you hold it. Contsted Territories are a very good source of income because they don't have a maximum capacity, unlike Banana Farms (in your city). They also give faster income than farms.
    • If you lose control of the CT to either the bloons or another player, all city cash that were in stock beforehand will be lost, so players should collect it frequently if they are competing against worthy opponents.

Tips

Current Week (City 1)

Terrain and Map

This week (7 Dec)'s CT is hosted on a slightly easy water map: the Loop river map (River terrain). Earning a high round here can be very difficult due to the lack of bombs and ninjas, so finding a strategy can be quite hard.

Strategies

Low tier CTs (Tiers 1 to 3)

The low tiers, as always, should be really easy, unless your strategy is mainly based on ninjas and/or bombs. Sometimes in those cases it can be sometimes hard to find a strategy, but it still shouldn't be that tough.

Medium tier CTs (Tiers 4 to 6)

These tiers are more difficult. Since banana farms are favored, try to start using those since they can be VERY useful. Dartling guns are very useful too, especially against MOAB's. Just remember that even 2-3 dartlings can't damage DDT's. Arctic wind is useful too at the second loop.

High tier CTs (Tiers 7-9)

High tier CTs are still really difficult. At this point though you should have (hopefully) a lot of upgrades. Getting temples up with a lack of bombs can also prevent you from getting very high. This map also might force you to use boats if you want to go high round, so try Monkey Pirates, especially for DDT's.

Tips

-Early MOAB SHREDDR spikes can be essential due to the fact that DDT's come before ZOMG's.

(NEW MAP) Using camo protection is essential, as they will end you. This may be hard to achieve with the "No Ninjas" restriction.

Current Week (City 2)

Low tier CTs (Tiers 1 to 3)

Start with a ninja 2/1. Then, for Lead bloons buy an apprentice ASAP(Note: you'll need to be City level at least 11 for Leads to not pass through). Upgrade the Apprentice to 2/1. Get an Engineer 2/2. Then, get a Boomerang 1/1 and an Ice tower 2/1. (fill in if anyone wants to)
