Cold Front is an upgrade in the Magic Monkey Knowledge tree. It allows the lightning bolts that arc of a Ball Lightning to freeze bloons along with the ball itself. It requires 4 Magic Knowledge Points invested, Warm Oak unlocked, and a one-time purchase of 250.

Cold Front was reworked twice after Ball Lightning received two separate buffs. Before Version 30.0, it added a 25% chance for the collisions of Ball Lightning’s freeze. Before Version 39.0, It increased freeze chance via Ball Lightning's ball itself from 25% to 100%.

Strategy

Summary

Much stronger stalling by allowing the lightning bolts to freeze bloons along with the ball. This converts the Ball Lightning into a freeze-stalling powerhouse, which combined with the stronger blowback from the already improved tornadoes makes for a significant boost in countering Super Ceramics.

Tips

• 4-0-2 greatly increases the rate of producing lightning balls, and hence should be the preferred crosspath to make the most of it. 4-2-0 also cannot increase pierce of the lightning ball's lightning even with life regeneration, which is why only 4-0-2 would be impactful for increasing freeze potential of these attacks.
• Place the Druid in an area that allows it to make the most out of the lightning bolts to freeze groups of bloons.
