Od carrier — Overdrives on Carrier Flagship

Carrier Flagship is the 5th upgrade on Path 1 of the Monkey Buccaneer in Bloons TD Battles 2. It is very similar to its BTD6 counterpart prior to Version 34.0, with noticeable differences. Most notably, its footprint capacity is slightly increased, and thus being able to support footprints as large as Spike Factories. Note that it can also support Super Monkeys, although in this game they're slimmer.

It upgrades its mini planes to deal much more damage, pop any bloon type (excluding Camos, unless given camo detection), and each shoot one rapid stream of smarter darts. In addition, all water-based towers (Monkey Buccaneers, Monkey Subs, water-placed Pat Fusty, or water-placed Sun Temple and its upgrades) and Monkey Aces, and Etienne's UCAV attack ~18% faster. Two new small platforms are located on the upper decks of the Carrier Flagship, extending the height of other towers to partially ignore Line of Sight limits for monkeys placed on them. The right platform increases height more than the left.

Mini planes deal much greater damage overall compared to its previous upgrade. Darts pop any bloon type (except Camo, although 5-0-2 crosspath allows popping of Camos), and its homing anti-MOAB missiles become even stronger (every 1.5s, 4 pierce, 80 damage) and can damage visible DDTs. The front-firing darts of each plane will now fire only one rapid stream of darts, although these darts have 72 pierce but consume 4 pierce versus MOAB-class, deal extra damage (3 per dart, +6 on top against Ceramics), and will aim at bloons rather than firing forward.

There is an interaction with Arctic Wind that allows towers on ice platforms to be buffed.

It costs $25,000, and is unlocked with the other tier 5 Monkey Buccaneer upgrades for 1500.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

Packs a lot of DPS and also comes with a water buff. It comes especially useful on water-heavy maps when paired with Arctic Wind, which actually helps buff any tower placed on ice platforms.

Tips[]

The best crosspath for Carrier Flagship is Grape Shot or Hot Shot, as this greatly increases DPS by shooting lots of grapes per shot at rapid speeds. If camo detection is needed, use external camo detection or decamo for the 4-2-0. 4-0-2 is simply not as strong as 4-2-0 in terms of DPS.
