Captain Churchill is a Hero in Bloons TD 6 who was added in Version 2.0. He commands a tank; as such he utilizes explosives as his main form of attack. The tank launches explosive shells that generate multiple explosions, and leveling him up adds more weaponry to the tank. He shoots explosive shells very slowly, but each shell packs immense damage. Among his weaponry as he levels up, he can temporarily switch to armor-piercing ammunition, hold up his LMG to rapidly fire bullets, and can launch barrages of anti-MOAB rockets at MOAB-class bloons.
The secondary LMG Attack that Churchill gains at level 5 is independent of targeting priority and always follows "First" Bloon.
Churchill is currently the most expensive hero in the game, costing $1,700 on Easy, $2,000 on Medium, $2,160 on Hard, and $2,400 on Impoppable. If Hero Favors is enabled, he will cost $1,530 on Easy, $1,800 on Medium, $1,945 on Hard, and $2,160 on Impoppable. In addition, he is only unlockable by a one-off purchase of 2,500.

Upgrades[]
Captain Churchill will start upgrading himself every round upon placement. He earns more XP each round to unlock his next upgrade irrespective of how many bloons he pops. His upgrades can also be immediately bought with cash, though the amount of cash required to purchase the next upgrade will typically increase as the upgrades get higher, making self-upgrading an important element for his overall power.
Captain Churchill requires 1.71x (2x before Version 8.0, 1.8x before Version 21.0) as much experience to upgrade towards each level compared to Quincy, Gwendolin, Striker Jones, or Obyn Greenfoot.

Armor Piercing Shells temporarily pop Black Bloons, produce up to 2 more explosions per shell, and deal +9 damage to Ceramics and MOAB-class. At Level 13, shells temporarily deal +3 damage and +21 Ceramic and MOAB damage on top, while at Level 17 the base damage buff is +6 and Ceramic and MOAB buff to +33.
At base, the Armor Piercing Shells ability lasts for 9s, and increases by 0.5s for every level after Level 3. The maximum duration for the Armor Piercing Shells ability is 18s. Cooldown for Armor Piercing Shells is 30 seconds.
MOAB Barrage Ability[]

MOAB Barrage Ability
MOAB Barrage sends out targets up to 10 of the strongest blimps on screen with waves of powerful missiles. These missiles will keep targeting the same blimp until the duration ends or if the blimp pops, but the next target(s) won't switch to a different target if the original target pops before the 7.5s duration ends. MOAB Barrage deals 200 damage per missile, increased to 250 at Levels 13-16, 500 at Level 17-19, and 1000 at Level 20. When activated at Level 20, shells deal extra 3 damage. Lasts 8 seconds.
Cooldown for the ability is 60 seconds, reduced to 30 seconds at Level 20.

Summary[]
Captain Churchill is a pure DPS hero at an expensive price and slow leveling rate, best suited to point along a straight line to optimise his piercing shells. His multiple-explosive attacks and relatively high damage is a useful asset as the main sources of damage in a game. Allowing him to attack along straight lines to maximize the pierce of the explosions can help him improve his overall damage potential. He gains a much greater proportion of value in later rounds, as his levels gradually give significant boosts in damage, particularly Levels 7, 10, and 13.
He is one of the strongest heroes in the game because of his massive pure DPS potential, yet simple enough to use that most of his strength only relies on just positioning, targeting, and proper ability timing. However, he is also somewhat map-dependent, as he generally prefers straightline action to maximize his total popping power with his multi-explosion shells. On harder map formats, he can be focused on a specific straightaway to blast large quantities of Bloons in that direction.
Tips[]
- He is a very expensive hero, but he is useful against MOAB-class bloons later on in the game, especially with Armor Piercing Shells ability and the MOAB Barrage ability.
- Since he levels up slowly compared to other heroes, he benefits most from the Empowered Heroes Monkey Knowledge, a Monkey Knowledge that allows all heroes to automatically start at Level 3.
- Churchill cannot pop DDTs without abilities, so be wary if using Churchill as a main defense against MOAB-class bloons.
- He is somewhat map-specific as he is best used on maps with straight lines to shoot down so he can maximize the amount of explosions from each of his shots.
- His slow leveling rate is not necessarily a bad thing. Because he is stronger than most heroes relative to overall levels, Churchill is among the best DPS-specific heroes to pair with Overclock, as this takes advantage of his slow leveling versus his high damage output while keeping very high ability uptime.
- MOAB Barrage ability weakens the strongest MOAB-class bloons into much more manageable chunks, but like Admiral Brickell's Mega Mine, Churchill's MOAB Barrage ability can also cause more work by spawning many groups of weaker blimps or Ceramics. However, try pair this ability with the Armor Piercing Shells ability to take advantage of the extra damage versus larger groups of Ceramics and MOABs.
- Usually, he will benefit effectively on his own when he is used optimally by shooting along straight lines. Due to the nature of his pure DPS role, he doesn't possess many synergies with other towers. He synergizes well with Overclock because of gaining a considerable attack speed buff from the Overclock ability. When it comes to other DPS-oriented towers, Crossbow Master can be accompanied to fulfill Captain Churchill's role while his Armor Piercing Shells ability is under cooldown.
- Energizer helps speed up his very slow natural leveling speed, which lets him reach his strongest upgrades sooner and also reduce ability cooldowns for all abilities including his own.

- [???, possibly 2.0] MOAB Barrage does not target blimps correctly. It is intended to always target the largest blimp on screen, but it appears to target the last blimp on screen with the last 9 missiles. Despite 14.0 supposedly fixing the bug, the bug still occurs.

- [???, possibly 2.0] There was a bug that made Captain Churchill weaker because the machine gun and main gun could not damage the same bloon if they happen to attack simultaneously. This was fixed on Version 22.0.

Balance Changes[]
Captain Churchill received many buffs throughout updates, to the extent that he is one of the strongest DPS heroes in the entire game overall in comparison to each hero level. However, Version 35.0 slightly reduced his explosion pierce, as at the time he was one of many dominant heroes in harder maps.
In 44.0, Captain Churchill’s main cannon increased damage at all levels at the cost of attack speed to utilize his pierce, and his machine gun‘s damage increased at all levels too, to perform its job of catching the faster Bloons. This rework has buffed his general DPS against extremely dense bloon formations, but has worsened his pre-Level 5 catching of faster bloons and nerfed his synergies with flat damage buffs and bloon debuffs. 45.0 gave some compensation buffs in return.

- Captain Churchill is the first hero added to the game from an update.
- Captain Churchill was the only hero that costs Monkey Money to unlock before the 3.0 update, until Benjamin was added.
- Both Churchill and Striker Jones use military-grade artillery.
- Also, both of them are generally considered to be military-type heroes.
- Captain Churchill is currently the cheapest hero to buy with Monkey Money, costing
2,500, the most expensive being Adora, Admiral Brickell, Etienne, Geraldo, Psi, and Sauda, who all cost
5,000, the second most expensive being Benjamin, Ezili, and Pat Fusty, which all cost
3,000 per hero.
- He is the first and only hero that does not call out the MOAB by name, instead saying it's a "MOAB-Class Bloon."
- Speaking of MOAB-Class Bloon, he clearly doesn't know what a B.A.D. is, as his quote when one appears is "What in blazes is that!?".
- As of version 26.0, Churchill, Quincy, Sauda, and Psi are the only full offensive Heroes in the game without any passive nor activated support capabilities for other towers nearby.
- Churchill has the most upgrade designs of any hero, with six designs (eighteen including his Sentai Churchill and Sleigh Churchill skins).
- He is also the only hero to have a Level 6 design.
- Despite Quincy, Gwendolin, Striker Jones, and Obyn Greenfoot all having their respective second skins in different updates in the following order (although not consecutively by update), Benjamin is the fifth hero to have received a second cosmetic skin instead of Captain Churchill, thereby skipping out on Captain Churchill despite being the 5th hero in the game.
- Churchill would not receive another skin until update 34.0.

Pre-release[]
- Before the 2.0 update, coding for Captain Churchill along with other upcoming heroes were found in the BTD6 files. There was also a early version of Captain Churchill's art, being different than the current icon for Captain Churchill.
- Two tanks that resemble the early design of Churchill's tank make a cameo appearance in Bloons Supermonkey 2 Mobile.
Balance changes[]
- In Version 4.0, Churchill's MOAB Barrage ability damage will now add to his pop count.
Community achievements[]
- The Version 13.0 buff allows Churchill to beat up to Round 100 on Logs Easy on his own with only a 0/3/0 MIB for support, as evidenced on one of ISAB's updated 1 Churchill Only Challenge.
- The Version 22.0 bug fix was actually a buff for Captain Churchill. Strangely, it was not listed in the Version 22.0 patch notes, but with this buff, players ended up completing various 2TC with him and another weaker tower on Logs and Cubism. Link to discussion on r/btd6, albeit as a meme.
