0-3-2 Cannon Ship shooting all weapons at once, second bomb likely exploded prior
Cannon Ship is the 3rd upgrade on Path 2 of the Monkey Buccaneer in Bloons TD Battles 2. Just like its BTD6 counterpart, it now also shoots explosive fraggy bombs every 1.2s. In comparison to its Battles 1 counterpart, all attacks will always simultaneously shoot from both sides instead of just from one side. However, burning grapes continue to deal 1 napalm damage per tick, and deal 1 damage each. 0-3-1 crosspath offers +7 explosion pierce but no extra frag pierce, while 1-3-0 increases bomb attack speed by +33%. Bomb pierce is 28 by default, 35 with 0-3-1, frags is 1 pierce. It retains the dart attack, which attacks every 1.0s and pops up to 4 bloons like the base Buccaneer.
It costs $900, and is unlocked with the purchase of Monkey Buccaneer.
Cannon Ship is a powerful option for taking down grouped bloons efficiently. Crosspathing makes it very powerful for the defense's needs. It can be paired with Double Shot to become a solid DPS tower for the early-game, and with Crow's Nest it easily shreds most earlier camo rushes sent by the opponent, especially Grouped Camo Purples, and comes with extra grape pierce.
Tips[]
2-3-0 tends to do better overall in terms of DPS, but 0-3-2 can be used for dealing with Camos.
Generally speaking, the 0-3-1 is more efficient for the extra pierce to bombs and frags, plus the extra grape pierce that comes from Long Range.
Try letting it attack from both sides. Doing so allows it to make use of its simultaneous lateral attacks per shot. Some positioning and target priority adjustments may be required. Docks is a perfect map for utilizing this mechanic.
Cannon Ship pairs well with Alchemist's Berserker Brew to boost its damage a fair amount.
Try using Cannon Ship for Rounds 4-8 and it will excel against those rounds fully if properly placed.
The Boat-Alch-Spac combo relies on Cannon Ship's early-game prowess to carry it throughout those rounds, even with Quincy for early-game. While Cannon Ship is less important when combined with Captain Churchill, Cannon Ship will be a great cleanup option for Churchill-BAS combos against R9 and onwards rushes, especially if his AP Shells ability is on cooldown.

In hindsight, the previous change to 031 Buccaneers was a bit too much, as Cannon Ship was already a decent upgrade. We have kept the pierce increase that xx1 provides to the explosion but removed the pierce increase to the frags so that the xx1 buff isn’t quite as impactful. Furthermore, we have allowed 1xx to buff the attack cooldown of the cannons, as it makes sense for both crosspaths to have an effect.
