Monkey Engineering at its finest, this trap will remove Camo status from the first 500 Bloons that touch it.
~ Bloons TD6 description
CamoTrapIcon

The Camo Trap is a Power in Bloons TD 6. It costs BloonjaminsIcon50 to purchase. When placed on the track, the Camo Trap will decamo the Camo status from the first 500 Camo Bloons (or 600 with BiggerCamoTrapIcon Bigger Camo Trap) that pass over it. Camo Traps can also remove DDT camo. DDTs consume 1 pierce, just as any ordinary Camo Bloon, similar to most other types of decamo. In the Contested Territory event, it is available as Relic Knowledge, and can be used once per game.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

It is not a reliable choice for consistent decamo, but it can temporarily prevent Camo Bloons from being an overwhelming issue. Make sure to have reliable decamo or other camo countermeasures elsewhere as soon as possible, because a Camo Trap will not be very reliable at decamoing DDTs.

Tips[]

  • Use multiple Camo Traps for DDTs. Otherwise use a Super Monkey Storm to wipe out the current DDTs on screen, which will leave out the Ceramic offspring behind because Super Monkey Storm cannot soak through blimp layers. To save money on rounds like Round 95, use a Time Stop to clump the DDTs together for buying time to chain with a Super Monkey Storm later on.

Contested Territory Tips[]

  • The Relic Knowledge variant from Contested Territory grants the player one use of Camo Trap, which are effective on Least Tiers tiles because of their generally short length and ability to bypass buying extra camo-detection tiers.
  • Camo traps are also effective to a lesser extent on Least Cash tiles for similar reasons, although generally performs the best when no camo removal and poor camo detecting upgrades are available.
  • On single-lane maps, one Camo Trap will be completely exhausted by Round 70. However, only 9 regrow white bloons will make it past on round 70 if a camo trap is placed before round 24, so relics like Regeneration, Mana Bulwark, Box of Chocolates, Restoration, and Road Spikes should let the player survive the round. Once round 74 rolls around, however, 25 camo regrow ceramics will overwhelm a defense if camo trap placement is not delayed. Round 78 has a wave of 72 camo ceramics that will likely kill any defense that does not also employ Super Monkey Storm. The next camo round after round 78 is round 90 with the first DDTs, which is when skipping camo upgrades is likely no longer viable.
  • Round 24 and Round 33 can often be survived by leaking; together, these two rounds still only cost less than 100 lives. As there are exactly 500 Camo Bloons from Round 36 to Round 74 inclusively, one Camo Trap alone can allow the player to go to Round 78 without any camo detection. If a Super Monkey Storm is used to take out the camo rush on Round 78, the player can then proceed up to Round 90 until some sort of special anti-camo measure is absolutely required.
    • If using Spirit of the Forest, an early-bought Spirit of the Forest will suffice as camo detection against non-DDT Camos, provided it can pop Lead, allowing the Camo Trap to still remain beefy in preparation for all DDT rounds, even Round 90, Round 93, Round 95, and Round 99.
  • Camo Trap is less effective on multi-lane maps, as half or more of the bloons will be unable to be affected by the trap.
    • However, on maps with separate bloon and blimp entrances (e.g. Quarry, Cargo), a Camo Trap can be used on tiles with Rounds 90+ to specifically only target DDTs, though reliable camo defense is required for bloon rounds.
  • On Boss Bloon Event tiles, this power is generally only good when poor decamo and camo detection towers are available.
