In Bloons Monkey City, buildings are facilities that help reinforce and develop a civilized city. The majority of buildings can increase the numbers of towers, allow research of upgrades, or facilitate research of special upgrades. Some buildings deal with the generation or storage of City Cash, while others deal with power. Buildings each have a certain size, which consumes a number of tiles in a rectangular dimension (e.g. Dart Monkey Hall consumes 1x1 tiles, Ace Airport consumes 2x1 tiles in a vertical rectangle, and Super Monkey Villa consumes 2x2 tiles). Reaching a higher level city allows more advanced buildings to become unlocked.

Base Buildings[]
Base Buildings, sometimes referred to as Unit Buildings or Monkey Buildings, allows Monkeys and both Road Spikes and Pineapples for use on the battlefield. Each will take some City Cash and time to build, and rewards XP upon being built.
Heli Pad, Chipper Shed and Submarine Berth buildings appear in BMC Mobile and can be viewed in this context in: Buildings (Mobile)#Base Buildings

Upgrade Buildings[]
Upgrade Buildings are built to research upgrades for specified towers. On BMC Flash, the Monkey Academy is required to complete the "tutorial", and all other upgrade buildings can be built at one's discretion. The Monkey Town Hall is automatically built once the city is first created. Upon building the Micro Agriculture Development Building/Banana Farm Lab, Banana Farms can be built in-game.

Premium Buildings[]
Premium Buildings are a new addition to BMC that are bought with 10 each and exist solely for your city's decoration and have no effect on gameplay. No experience points are gained from building them, no city cash is spent to build them, and no construction time is used to build them.
Efficient Land Use[]
There is no way to "grind" XP in Bloons Monkey City, so the only ways to enable additional XP gain are to unlock additional research opportunities, capture additional land, or improve the efficiency of the land that has been captured. Demolishing a building creates "debt" equal to the XP gained for completing the building; this "debt" must be paid by earning that amount of XP before the player's City XP can increase again. Upgrade Buildings, Special Buildings, and Monkey v Monkey buildings (except Bloontonium Storage Tanks and Bloontonium generator) cannot be demolished once built. Below are the buildings that can be built and demolished in order to improve efficiency.
