~ Round 7 in Bloons Tower Defense 3

A Blue Bloon is a Bloon that appears in every Bloons game to date, except for Bloons 2 Spring Fling. In BTD series, it traditionally appears on the 3rd or 4th round. This can be altered for player-made levels in the Bloons TD 4 Track Editor if "Light" or "Hard" bloon progression is chosen. It is a "grandchild" of a Yellow Bloon, and it spawns from a Green Bloon; it spawns a Red Bloon. It is only slightly faster than a Red Bloon with a speed of 4 Blocks per second, and has the same speed as a Camouflage Bloon (BTD4). The RBE of a Blue Bloon is 1 (Bloons series) or 2 (other games), meaning it takes 2 hits to pop entirely.

Countermeasures

The Blue Bloon is only slightly faster than a Red Bloon, but they are relatively easy to beat, since they only take two hits to fully pop it. They, however, are dangerous in densely packed groups. Such densely packed groups only appear in Bloons TD Battles as bloon sends or in BTD6 in Round 4.

Good counters to Blue Bloons include Ninja Monkeys (BTD5 and BTD6), Dart Monkeys with Triple Darts, and Druids (BTD6 only).

Trivia

  • After M.O.A.B.s, Lead and Red Bloons (these have the same speed), B.F.B.s, Z.O.M.G.s and B.A.D.s, the Blue Bloon is the seventh slowest Bloon in the Bloons TD series.
  • The Mortar Tower's Bloon Buster upgrade, The Glue Gunner's Bloon Dissolver upgrade, the Beekeeper, the Sniper Monkey, and the Monkey Ace Spectre bombs, due to their ability to pop 2 or more layers, can pop a Blue Bloon in 1 hit.
  • Blue bloons were faster in BTD1 and BTD2, but they were slowed down in BTD3 and all later games to make those first few levels a bit easier.
  • A blue bloon can even out speed an Epic Range Super Monkey on some tracks. This was tested on MOAB Desert.
  • In Bloons Monkey City, Blue Bloon is not a valid max bloon type (except in Mobile).
