~ Round 4 in Bloons TD 1 |
A Blue Bloon is a Bloon that appears in every Bloons game to date, excluding Bloons 2 Spring Fling. In the BTD series, it traditionally appears on the 3rd or 4th round. This can be altered for player-made levels in the Bloons TD 4 Track Editor if "Light" or "Hard" bloon progression is chosen. It is a "grandchild" of a Yellow Bloon, and it spawns from a Green Bloon. It releases a Red Bloon when popped. It is only slightly faster than a Red Bloon with a speed of 4 Blocks per second, and has the same speed as a Camouflage Bloon (BTD4). The RBE of a Blue Bloon is 1 (Bloons series) or 2 (other games), meaning it takes 2 hits to pop entirely.
Details[]
The Blue Bloon is the second-weakest bloon in Bloons TD games. It is slightly faster than a Red Bloon and leaks 2 lives if it reaches the exit. If popped with an attack that deals 1 damage, it spawns a Red Bloon. The Green Bloon is the parent of the Blue Bloon.
Otherwise, in Bloons series games, specifically Ninja Kiwi's earlier games prior to popularizing the Bloons TD series, the Blue Bloon is just a recosmeticked Red Bloon.
Bloons TD Battles 2[]
Blue Bloons can be sent starting from Round 1. Spaced Blues cost $15 and give 0.8 eco per slot, each slot sending 5 Blues with small spacing. Grouped Blues replace the Spaced Blues option on Round 3, and cost $24 for 6 densely grouped Blues, and gives 1 eco. The send disappears entirely on Round 13, where it is replaced with Ceramics.
Natural Blues start appearing on Round 2.
Blue Bloons move at a base speed of 35, equal to 1.4 RBS.
Bloons Pop![]
“ | The basic blue Bloon | ” |
~ Short description |
Blue Bloons make a return in Bloons Pop!. Similarly to its other counterparts, the Blue Bloon pops into a Red Bloon when hit by a one-damage attack.
Bloons Card Storm[]
Blue Bloons appear as Common Bloon cards in Bloons Card Storm. They cost 1 Gold to play, have 2 charges, 60 health, and a turn delay of 1. Blue Bloons have three variants:
- Nested Blue: Spawns a Nested Red when popped. 1 coins, 1 charge, 60 health, 1 delay. Rare Card.
- Swarm Blue Bloon: 1 coins, 4 charges, 50 health, 1 delay. Uncommon Card.
- Double Blue Bloon: Double Attack (i.e. attacks the hero twice if leaked). 3 coins, 2 charges, 45 health, 1 delay. Uncommon Card.

Strategies[]
The Blue Bloon is only slightly faster than a Red Bloon, but they are relatively easy to beat, since they only take two hits to fully pop it. They, however, are dangerous in densely packed groups. Such densely packed groups only appear in Bloons TD Battles as bloon sends or in BTD6 in Round 4.
Good counters to Blue Bloons include Ninja Monkeys (BTD5 and BTD6), Dart Monkeys with Triple Darts, and Druids (BTD6 only). For combatting blue bloon groups such as those on round 4 of BTD6 or eco rushes in BTDB(2), it might be best to use an Alchemist, Bomb Shooter, or similar grouped popping tower.

Trivia[]
- After M.O.A.B.s, Lead and Red Bloons (these have the same speed), B.F.B.s, Z.O.M.G.s and B.A.D.s, the Blue Bloon is the seventh slowest Bloon in the Bloons TD series.
- The Mortar Tower's Bloon Buster upgrade, The Glue Gunner's Bloon Dissolver upgrade, the Beekeeper, the Sniper Monkey, and the Monkey Ace Spectre bombs, can pop a Blue Bloon in 1 hit, due to their ability to pop 2 or more layers.
- Blue bloons were faster in BTD1 and BTD2, but they were slowed down in BTD3 and all later games to make those first few levels a bit easier.
- A blue bloon can even outrun an Epic Range Super Monkey on some tracks. This was tested on MOAB Desert.
- In Bloons Monkey City, Blue Bloon is not a valid max bloon type (except in Mobile).
- This bloon's last appearence is on round 27 in BTD5/6.
- Blue Bloons are one of three bloon types that never spawn from the entrance as a Camo Bloon in standard modes, along with Black Bloons and Zebra Bloons.
- However, all three types of bloons can appear as camo in Alternate Bloons Rounds.
