Bloons TD 6 Console refers to a series of console ports of Bloons TD 6 released by Ninja Kiwi. The Xbox version was released on September 6th 2023.

Currently, the Xbox version is a recreation of Version 32.0 without Contested Territory that is built for the Xbox interface. For further details of balance changes related to Version 32.0, refer to the related balance changes page.

Gameplay

Gameplay is similar to the mainstream Bloons TD 6 (which is designed for mobile and desktop devices), with minor differences. The user interface is adjusted to optimize the console environment.

In terms of compatibility with the main Bloons TD 6 game, console versions are incompatible with other versions of Bloons TD 6. Game saves of Bloons TD 6 Console are incompatible with those of PC and mobile ports of BTD6, Bloons TD 6+, or Bloons TD 6 Netflix, and vice versa.

Differences

• Delayed updates. Ninja Kiwi states that the updates are slower for console versions.
  • Xbox version is currently set on Version 32.0 without Contested Territory.
• Altered UI utilizing a wheel to select tower functions instead of the rectangular border UI.
• Console players can only play Co-Op with other console players.
• All maps are displayed in open matte view in-game (i.e. wider maps with more detail on the left and right, and more placement area), similar to maps on Bloons TD 5 Console.

Console cannot crossplay with PC or mobile, and console has its own account system, which is separate from the other versions of the game. This is for several reasons but the main one is that maps on console are actually wider than they are on other platforms, so there is more space to place monkeys. This means that crossplay and progress syncing is not possible. As well as that, console will generally lag behind the main game as updates take longer to adapt to the console layout and control scheme.	”

• Bloons TD 6 Console is the third console game series in the Bloons TD series, the first being the standalone Bloons TD PSN game for PS3 and PSP, the second is Bloons TD 5 Console which was released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Note that handheld games such as Bloons TD 4 DSi and Bloons TD DSi do not count, as the Nintendo DS and 3DS are handhelds, not consoles.
• According to Ninja Kiwi's 22nd September 2023 blog, the console version of BTD6 is not planned to ever allow full crossplay with the mobile and desktop versions of the game, for multiple reasons. Their main reason is that maps on the console version are wider, but also stated that updates on console versions take longer than other versions due to adapting layouts for console controls.
