Bloon Spy note upon first appearance
A Bloon Spy is a type of Bloon that appears in Bloons Monkey City Mobile. Instead of appearing on tracks like other bloons, bloon spies appear within the borders of the city as red bloons with a paper cutout featuring a crudely drawn frowning monkey face. Bloon Spies move freely around the city and are only obstructed by buildings, non-path decorations, water (River and Lake terrains), and city walls. When popping bloon spies in a friend's city, 
1 is awarded for popping all Bloon Spies.
During Bloon Spy Invasion events on Bloons Monkey City Mobile, a variant of the Bloon Spies in the form of blue bloons appear, similar to the rabbits during the King's Easter Egg Hunt event. Popping blue bloon spies collects intel, & after some time new ones will appear (a new bloon spy appears roughly every 15 minutes or so but appear to max at 12 spies). At progressively growing intel quantity levels, rewards are given; the last reward is three Ancient Monkey Knowledge Packs (originally only one).
It is possible to visit other players' cities (eg. through Contested Territory) & pop blue bloon spies present there; However, each spy popped in other cities rewards 1 intel, unlike the spies in the player's city which reward 20 intel. It is unknown if popping these spies reduces the number of spies the other city's player will have when they log back onto their game.

- The blue bloon spies for the Bloon Spy Invasion event do not count towards the total bloon spies the player has popped. It is confirmed by viewing the player's stats, as only the red ones count.
