An active Bloon Sabotage by a Ninja Saboteur

Bloon Sabotage is the 4th upgrade of Path 2 for the Ninja Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. It is similar to its BTD6 counterpart, however it should be noted that Bloon Sabotage's ability has a lack of initial cooldown and much higher overall cost when accounting the Shinobi Tactics upgrade.

When activated, Bloon Sabotage slows all bloons, including MOAB-class bloons, on screen by 50%. However, like the BTDB Mobile counterpart, the Bloon Sabotage effect can soak through MOAB-class bloons and affects all current and incoming bloons on screen. An active Bloon Sabotage ability can be sold while still affecting the currently affected bloons.

The upgrade costs $4,500, and is available after purchasing Ninja Monkey.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

An instant global slow that greatly assists against all-out rushes and to manage DDT rushes more safely. This global slow is a strong choice for slowing MOAB-class bloons on screen. This ability can be micromanaged to fulfill a significant duration of the slowdown effect. Players who were familiar with the Bloon Sabotage in Battles 1 Mobile may need to adjust their strategy to account for the higher purchase cost, but because this slowdown ability soaks through blimp layers it will be much more effective against ZOMG and BFB rushes.

Tips[]

  • Bloon Sabotage can be a useful tool if struggling against large rushes, as it can give your towers more time to attack and slow blimps.
  • Crosspathing doesn't matter outside of the Shinobi benefits, as the main power of Bloon Sabotage is its ability.
  • Note that a pure 0-4-0 Bloon Sabotage does cost more than its BTD6 counterpart, which means a greater prior investment must be done.
  • In Play with Fire you can send a rush at the opponent and slow the incoming rush on your side so the bloons on the opponent's side reaches to the exit first.

We have increased Ninja’s early-game potential since it stood out as a tower with relatively low DPS in the early game, always depending on another tower to deal the damage or to buff it. [...]

4.1
  • BUFF Bloon Sabotage: Ability now soaks through MOAB class bloons (e.g. a slowed BFB will pop into slowed MOABs)
Ever since Ninja’s major nerfs a few updates ago, it has not been at the level that we would like. We are very conscious to not repeat past mistakes and over-buff it’s early game, so we’re just making very small changes for now. Bloon Sabotage has also been changed so that it can be used more reliably and easily when defending ZOMGs and BFBs.

Trivia[]

  • Before getting reworked in Version 1.4.0, an active Bloon Sabotage ability could affect descendents of blimps, and its slowdown effect wears out if the Ninja is sold.
  • When first released, Bloon Sabotage had the same standalone upgrade cost as Sticky Bomb.
