While the balance of Bomb Shooter centers on its benefits from Tier 3 onwards, Base Bomb feels too weak for grouped damage for its price while also too expensive for popping Leads compared to any other option. Its lower-tier prices and base cost have been reduced overall, but raised on Cluster Bombs as the 2-0-3 crosspath currently overperforms compared to any crosspath variant of Really Big Bombs. While the reduced MOAB-class damage was necessary for T3 versus T4 balance, MOAB Mauler spam has became less popular recently, and the damage nerf last patch felt …

Hot Take: Ninja Kiwi should nerf most or all towers to the ground and keep bloons the same (minus the eco gained from sending bloons that also should be heavily reduced.)

It seems that Bloons TD Battles 2 heavily encourages defensive play rather than aggressive play since the towers are so much stronger than the bloons. And while for some this is perfect, it should be safe to assume that the majority of BTDB2 players enjoy the aggressive play that Battles 1 offered rather than what we have right now.

How do we encourage aggressive play? First, we need to identify the reason why Battles 2 is so defensive in the first place so that you can form your own opinion.

Note: When I say the word "economy", I am referring to eco, farms, and alt eco.

Why does Battles 2 encourage defensive play? (not sending relatively expensive rushes until round 30+, not sending bloons at all unless the opponent does it first, etc.)

The r…

BTDB2: v1.4.1 Balance Change Ideas

So last month I did a post about possible balance changes I would make to certain towers in Bloons Tower Defence Battles 2. Well, after seeing a recent post on Reddit, I decided to have another stab at it - but instead focus on the towers and crosspaths that fell into the range of being considerable overpowered and underpowered.

These are based on my observations though gameplay myself, and from the general understanding of what I believe the problems are. There's a fair chance that I am laughably wide of the mark, though. But at the very least these are all 'in theory' suggestion methods on how to balance the towers. Also, I didn't do every tower and just focused on the ones that I felt needed improving.

If you have any feedback, let me know…

Lore

Many people think there is no lore to bloons but in a blog Ninja Kiwi responded to a comment "How did the Ice Tower (BTD1-4) transform into the Ice Monkey (BTD5-6)?" ninja kiwi responded with"Bloons lore establishes that there is a monkey, even if a teensy tiny monkey, inside of, well, everything."

This means that not only is there a monkey inside of everything, but also that there is, or will be, a bloons lore. no matter how small it is.

Q:"How did the Ice Tower (BTD1-4) transform into the Ice Monkey (BTD5-6)?"

A:"Bloons lore establishes that there is a monkey, even if a teensy tiny monkey, inside of, well, everything."

Q:"Is the Earth in the blooniverse the same as the one in real life? same continents? is it more jungle-ey? what happened to…

Sniper Paragon Concept

Name: Call of the Infantry

Select Description: Sergeant Sniper comes to command the Tier 5’s, significantly increasing their power and his own!

Full Description: There will be a normal paragon sacrifice. After the sacrifice, Sergeant Sniper (who will be named Call of the Infantry due to naming limitations) WILL PLACE DOWN THE TIER 5’s. Each tier 5 is essentially a normal tier 5, but with both crosspaths (because Sergeant made some technology deals) at degree 1, and gets general buffs (Extra damage, Extra boss damage, etc...) all the way to degree 100. There are some slight changes to each tower, and I also need to describe Sergeant, so it will be below.

Sergeant Sniper: Sergeant is essentially a 333 tower, and his base 20 damage per shot, 3 ti…

BTBD2: Hypothetical Hero Alt Variants

OK, last time I did this I suggested possible rebalanced ideas for Bloons Tower Defence Battle 2...
But this time around, I'm looking forward to the future when more heroes are added. Specifically, what the hero Alts might look like.
I've been doing a little tinkering around, and I've come up with ideas for how three heroes - Admiral Brickell, Etienne and Psi - could all be rebalanced for their Alts and cater to a different playstyle.
To help explain, I have provided a brief summary of what the intended playstyle for each Hero Alt would be and how they differ from the base hero.

Let me know what you think!

BTDB2: Balance Change Ideas

Bloons Tower Defense Battles 2 has been out for a while now and is still finding its feet in regards to striking the right balance between its towers and Bloon sends. Everyone has their own ideas as to what the best way to improve the game is, especially the balance changes, so I'm going to list off some of the ones I have about certain towers.

I do appreciate feedback, so if you have anything to say about my ideas for ways to buff/nerf aspects of the game, let me know what you think!

Borb

The Borb, known as the Borb [sic] in earlier games, and abbreviated Borb (Borb in pre-BTD5 games), is a high-health blimp, first debuted in Bloons TD 3. It is the second-weakest multi-HP bloon throughout the series, but it is still quite formidable. In most games, the Borb has 200 health and will release 4 Ceramic Bloons once popped. In the Bloons Super Monkey series, damaging the Borb will spawn multiple Red Bloons, while in Bloons Super Monkey 2 popping the Borb sends out 8 Mini Borbs.

The Borb can be affected by any tower that can target Borb-Class Bloons. Some attacks, most notably the Borb Mauler, can inflict extra damage to Borb-class bloons compared to normal bloons, making them a deadly force against the Borb. Multi-projectile attacks, s…

See Invisibility Potion balance investigation

Geraldo has been a hotspot with the balance of Bloons TD 6 as of his release in Version 31. Between his results with Expert Maps and his 1TC (although THAT is suggested to be the result of Hitbox Dissonance), it is not hard to see why. 31.1 had him see bugfixes, ones that overall, if not objectively, buff him, and then 31.2 reduced his Base Damage by 1, particularly hitting his early game but otherwise leaving his general effectiveness unchanged. He still has a whole host of items, the bulk of which having a habit of being more powerful than they should be.

Most of the item imbalances are surprisingly traceable as I was able to figure them out after doing this run showcasing that Geraldo should be balanced around "strategy through utility" …

Smart Spikes rebalance suggestion: activation "High Gear Burst"

For quite a while, I have made balance suggestions. One such suggestion I'm particularly keen on is for Smart Spikes, the B2 upgrade for Spike Factory, to get an activation ability named High Gear Burst that would provide the increased production rate when used. I am fond of the idea for what it entails but I do need to provide active explanation on why I would make a suggestion like this.

  • 1 What is Smart Spikes? Why does it need a buff?
  • 2 What is "High Gear Burst" and what would be its aims?
  • 3 The worries
  • 4 Conclusion

Smart Spikes is, as mentioned, the B2 upgrade for Spike Factory. In addition to the benefits of Long Reach (doubled lifespan on piles and increased Range), Smart Spikes provides targeting options for where to send the spikes and also…

Balance improvement suggestions of mine for V32

While I had some real life issues to worry about, I figured that waiting a full Version would be better when handling what amounts to a general copy-and-paste anyway. But I'm back to post my balance suggestions for Version 32. There's some headway, but again, no rest for the weary and many things left alone. And I do have something to say about Geraldo. So again, time to get this rolling.

Note that there is going to be a LOT of copy-and-paste. However, I do make a few changes and some notes based on what happened in Versions 30 and 31. It's not as many as I'd like, but it's something.

BTD6 Data and Asset Extraction

UABE cannot open bundle file types, nor can it open encrypted asset file types either, so an alternative extractor is needed. For this case, AssetStudio is a good alternative as it bypasses the password requirement and allows you to preview the textures and sprites from directly inside the app. To install, click the badge and select the latest version that corresponds with your computer processor. After installing, extract the zip file, and run the exe. If it does not run because of .NET errors, you will need to download .NET Desktop Runtime.

This video tutorial also has pretty good steps to follow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgglKNFbvfk.

Juggernaut's ricochet niche is too difficult to use because juggernauts currently cannot rehit the same bloon more than once unlike Ultra-Juggernaut. For the Juggernaut upgrade only, regular juggernauts can now re-hit the same bloon more than once after bouncing off walls, similarly to Ultra-Juggernaut's main ultra-juggernauts.

Bloons Monkey City 2 design ideas.

Heres many ideas on how to make Bloons Monkey City 2 a good sequel, this does not mean BMC is bad, the idea works, it just has some bad executions.

  • Allowing the tutorial as option (removing the monotone nature.)
  • Lower Tiers of Primary Class towers that, can be unlocked with enough experience (experience is gained by winning a tile).
    • Towers falling into this category: Dart, Boomerang, Bomb, Tack, Ice, Glue. (This change is to slightly reduce the boring early game).
  • Unlockable Towers

Why Bloons Pop Isn’t Canon.

This blog post is to prove that Bloons Pop is not canon to the Bloons series. Work in progress.

A quick little note before we begin: this blog proves that bloons pop is not canon... In the world of Bloons TD 6. So the Mega Super not popping lead does not prove any points.

Note: parentheses show what BTD6 upgrades can do that/what the BP tower's upgrades are

All of the normal monkeys are CLEARLY 0-0-0, the heroes are CLEARLY level 1s, and the mega monkeys are CLEARLY tier 4s or 5s with no crosspaths. In that case, how does;

  • the mortar decamo? (0-0-3/0-0-0)
  • the glue gunner deal damage and coat like 20 bloons? (2-2-0/0-0-0)
  • Quincy shoot 5 arrows at once? (Literally nothing, it's impossible)
  • Churchill's missles pop blacks? (Level 3 ability/0)
  • Adora ha…

How to beat elite bloonarius

Use a free dart monkey, then save money until benjamin. then, save money until a farm, and upgrade it to 2-0-0. Then buy very quick shots. buy 1 more 2-0-0 farm, then buy a triple shot. buy the 2-0-0 farms around a circle, with a space in the middle big enough for a village. on round 27, buy a 0-0-0 alchemist. On round 35, buy another triple shot. Then, Once you fill the circle, buy a 1-0-2 village in the center. Then upgrade all the farms to 3-2-0. do this until round 38. On round 38, buy the 1-0-4 ninja and 2-4-0 tack. then, while bloonarius is happening, upgrade all farms to 4-2-0s, and get a overclock, upgrade your 1-0-2 village into 1-0-4. after bloonarius, sell your sticky bomb for 2 moab maulers, your maelstrom for a 4-0-2 boomera…

The top crosspath is rarely touched compared to the bottom crosspath, likely due to the cost, especially in the early-game. Prices for those have been decreased to make it a little more easy to purchase. On the other hand, the middle crosspath has been too overperforming compared to other upgrades, so its costs have been increased. Triple Shot also fares less favorably compared to Crossbow, so its price has been slightly lower…

Basic BTDB2 Information

This is a collection of basic BTDB2 Information newer players should know.

Tack Shooter Is OP, and Tack + Alch + Village is the Meta strat right now. (Tack Bug Patched)

A new strat that can be used is Boomerang + Sub + Village.

Hero Skins (Or alts) cost a lot, at 25,000 Hero xp and 2,000 Monkey money, so if you want to get one, save ur mm!

Tack Sprayer on bottom path tack adds +1 Pierce. (Patched as of Version 1.0.4)

Good ways to kill your opponents are round 26 fortified ddt rushes, round 11 regrow zebra/purple rushes, round 12 camo purple rushes, round 30 fortified bads, and round 16 Grouped ceramic rushes.

You can also try to bait out abilities and tower boosts with a weaker rush.

Bloons TD Battles 2 rebalancing suggestions

I know I am posting on day 1 with rebalancing suggestions for BTDB2, but there are some glaring faults within the game. These faults lead to some rather quick stagnation and frustrating grinding that drag down an otherwise very clear fun factor from a variety of bloon sends at least being able to work. These problems should be called out.

This won't take too long, at least. I'm not going to go into tower/Hero rebalance suggestions; it's guaranteed that I'd just be repeating suggestions I would have for BTD6's own tower rebalancing.

I'm starting off with Tower EXP because it gets the most common complaints of all. While I can say that Tower EXP could be worse even with free-to-play, there is CLEAR room for improvement to make the core gamepla…

Items (BATTD)/Ranking

Items in Bloons Adventure Time TD have certain value based on their stats. Generally speaking, their value comes from what their viability in loadouts as well as special advancements in a game. The same item cannot be used on the same character more than once, but stats from other items can stack or otherwise synergize well together. Many of the listed items tend to be straight upgrades of others. Different loadout options are also important to note, to which specific loadouts are simply superior compared to other loadouts with other item combinations.

The below list is a ranking list of all items in the game, based on their flexibility, viability, and practicality in the game.

Boss Health Comparison graph.

Normal Bloonarius vs Elite Bloonarius (health comparison)

Comparisons in health spike considerably between normal Bloonarius and Elite Bloonarius. The magnitude of health difference of the bosses alone are significant, not even including other comparisons such as bloon spawns and boss speed.

Etienne Edit

Etienne, also known as Steven is a Hero in Bloons TD 6, released in the Version 20.0 update. He specializes in air-based attacks using drones. He initially has 55 range with his main attack being a ranged attack from his drone. As he levels up, he'll be able to control a greater number of drones, utilizing an increasing number of control patterns for his drones. At Level 8+, he grants camo detection to all towers on screen, like a global Radar Scanner. At Level 10+, a large UCAV (Unmonkeyed Combat Aerial Vehicle) can be summoned with an ability. This ability allows the UCAV to move at a low-flying height while shooting waves of missiles, comparable to a mix between Adora and Spectre, or the Rocket Storm ability. Level 20 modifies the Level…

Reversed BTD6

Reverse is a game mode in BTD6. In this game mode, bloons enter from exit and exits at the entrance, bloons are spawned in reversed order (e.g. Blue Bloons on Round 24 come first and Camo Green come last). It is unlocked upon beating Medium Difficulty on the map.

This can make certain maps (namely with multiple entrances or exits more difficult.)

Apex Plasma Master buff

As more Paragons arrive, Apex Plasma Master's damage output and overall support value may diminish in value by comparison, so its base damage has been increased to gain more super late-game value, as well as make the Crossbow Master's high damag…

Balance change suggestions for 27.0

The wording used for these balance change reasonings are from the perspective as if I was a game developer specializing in balance changes.

Most Dart Monkey upgrades have suitable usages as a niche or early-game tower at the Dart Monkey's current state. However, the Juggernaut upgrade at core is a specialization at crushing Ceramics, to which alternate anti-Ceramic options are more reliable for their prices. This hefty Ceramic bonus should help give it some more anti-Ceramic value. On the other hand, while we're happy about the Super Monkey Fan Club's overall power, a few tweaks to impro…

Suggested Sentry Expert Algorithm

The perfect automatic Sentry Expert spawning algorithm in my opinion would be something like this:

  • Normal Conditions: Spawns in a cycle of Crushing, Boom, Cold, Energy in order. Ignores one sentry type from the cycle if conditions are not met for a certain sentry type. Repeats cycle from Crushing once the last sentry type was picked.
  • Crushing Sentry:
    • Always Spawn Condition: If there are Ceramics on screen.
    • Override-The-Other Condition: Overrides Boom Sentries if the numbers of Ceramics on screen surpasses 40 and if there are no Leads on screen.
    • No Spawn Condition: Crushing Sentries will not spawn if the only bloons on screen are MOAB-class.
  • Boom Sentry:
    • Always Spawn Condition: If Leads or Frozen on screen, not including DDTs.
    • No Spawn Condition: Unless…

BTD6 Hero Concept: King Mondus

Here's something a bit different: a concept for a Hero in BTD6.
This is King Mondus. A play on both "monkey" and "King Midas". And that should be a clue as to what this hero does.

King Mondus is similar to Benjamin in that he is completely passive and has no attacks, instead focusing on income generation. However, while Ben focuses on making money via end-of-round boosts and enhancing banks, King Mondus converts Bloons to gold to be popped for more money. Additionally, Banjamin's additional abilities are aggressive in nature, whereas King Mondus would be be built defensive.

Read on, and learn more about the legendary monarch that could be King Mondus.

King Mondus would have a slow levelling curve, similar to Captain Churchill and Adora.

Bloonchipper BTD6 Concept

Ninjakiwi: We cannot balance the Bloonchipper for BTD6.
Me: You wanna bet on that?

Yep, I'm doing it. Just like wit the C.O.B.R.A. page, I've come up with a complete list of 15 unique and balanced upgrades for the Bloonchipper in BTD6.
Here's a mock-up of what the tables could look like on this wiki, along with small details to explain the build of the tower along the way and infoboxes for the base tower AND its Tier-5 upgrades.

The Bloonchipper is designed as a Support category tower.

  • 1 Base Tower
  • 2 Path 1
  • 3 Path 2
  • 4 Path 3

The base Bloonchipper has undergone quite a few nerfs compared to its BTD5 variant. For a start, it can not suck in Frozen, Lead or Ceramic Bloons by default. Plus, it takes a second to shred a Bloon to pieces and sucks in Bloons much…
