Frag Bombs popping Black Bloons

Black-Popping Power (also referred as black-popping power, dark-popping power) is the capability for a tower to affect Black Bloon properties. This has appeared throughout the entirety of the Bloons TD series, where the Black Bloon first appears in the original Bloons Tower Defense and subsequently all games following it. Explosives such as Bomb Shooters normally cannot pop bloons with Black Bloon properties, but any attack other than explosive with such properties. Bloons Wiki depicts attacks that can affect black with this icon: , depicted as a Black Bloon from Bloons TD 6.

Many towers naturally pop Black Bloon properties by default. All other towers that cannot naturally pop Black Bloons will require an upgrade to pop Black Bloon properties. Some explosions already pop black by default, with examples being Flash Bomb, the BTD5 Bloon Impact, and Hydra Rocket Pods.

History of Black-Popping Power

Bloons Tower Defense 1

All towers can pop Black Bloons except for the Bomb Tower.

Bloons Tower Defense 2

Nothing has changed in terms of black-popping power, since the only explosive tower in the entire game is still the Bomb Tower.

Bloons Tower Defense 3

Bomb Tower now has a Frag Bombs upgrade whose fragments pops Blacks.

Bloons TD 4

With the introduction of Mortar Monkey, now two towers cannot pop the black bloon without upgrades or support.

Bloons TD 5

MIB was introduced, allowing any explosive to pop Black Bloon properties. This includes DDTs in Bloons Monkey City.

Bloons TD 6

Striker Jones is another support that buffs explosives to pop Black Bloon properties, another method that introduced this interaction.

Bloons Pop!

Any attack besides Explosive sources can affect Black Bloons. Due to bloon property popping working differently in this game, the Party Crashers bonus Extra Boom grants all Explosions Black-Popping Power to only Black Bloons instead of also to Zebra Bloons.
