“ | Uncollected Bananas auto-collect for half the amount, and Banks autocollect when full. Farms can be sold for 10% more value. | ” |
~ BTDB2 description |
Banana Salvage (BTDB2) is the second upgrade of Path 3 for the Banana Farm in Bloons TD Battles 2. It allows outdated bananas to be autocollected at 50% their original value. For Banks, they will autocollect immediately once full after a round ends. Farms with this upgrade also receive +10% sellback when sold, selling for 80% instead of 70% by default.
Aside from the strategically advantageous bonus sellback, Banana Salvage is primarily useful for people who have trouble collecting all bananas in time, especially on mobile.
It costs $240 to upgrade.

Strategy[]
Summary[]
Instead of directly superior income gain, Banana Salvage allows players to direct their attention elsewhere, while gaining a small amount of passive income. However, it is still preferable to be collecting it manually, as the income is greatly reduced otherwise. Banks also benefit largely off this upgrade by immediately emptying themselves upon reaching full at the end of a round, which actually may be more economic. The extra sellback is strategical when selling Farms is necessary, giving a little more cash when sold.
The greatest downside for the Banana Salvage upgrade is that most of the time the superior upgrades for the Banana Farm are Path 1 for the increased income gain and Path 2 for longer banana lifespan and even more income gain, and hence may hinder crosspath options if opting for that upgrade. That being said, the extra sellback proves to be incredibly helpful if needing to squeeze every dollar, especially because selling is even more important in this game.
Banana Salvage works incredibly well when paired with lower-tier Farms, and this bonus sellback benefit is what gives Marketplace a competitive edge over Plantation.
Tips[]
- Just getting the upgrade alongside its previous Quality Soil upgrade is more profitable than not getting the two upgrades. However, selling too early still does not profit compare to not getting the Farm itself.
- It takes a minimum of $15,500 ($10,850 in sellback without Banana Salvage, $12,400 in sellback with Banana Salvage) spent on a specific Banana Farm with Banana Salvage to break-even with the cost of Banana Salvage itself, which its minimum cumulative cost (a 0-0-2 Banana Farm) is $1,550. Because of this, unless going for upper path 3 upgrades, there is simply no benefit of increasing sell price for this Banana Farm where the sellback with Banana Salvage isn't at least $1,550 greater than a without Banana Salvage.
