Back To Basics is a rule in Martian Games. It combines the No Weapons and No Trinkets rules.

The appearance of Back To Basics in a Martian Games event usually means your options of boosting character stats and adding extra firepower are severely limited. As implied by its title, it forces all characters to use only their base attacks and other effects, be they from base or from upgrade, without any enhancements applied beforehand. As the strength of characters is typically from stacking trinkets and weapons, Allies become much more effective, so for lategame rounds, spamming strong allies such as Tech Terrors, Grob Gob Glob Grod, and Vampire King is recommended.

Trivia[]

The rule Allies Only can be considered more strict than Back To Basics, as it disables the use of characters altogether. However, Back To Basics allows for the possibility of No Allies to apply in tandem.
The No Weapons and No Trinkets rules together can also apply as separate rules and will function in the same way as Back To Basics itself.
