Arena Leagues is the form of progression in Bloons TD Battles 2 introduced in the Version 4.0. It replaces the original arena system since Season 19, with existing players on Season 18 starting off the new system on the current arena they finished by that season.
In Arena Leagues, players no longer lose trophies, but instead are categorized into leagues from the player's currently allocated Battle Arena. For all arenas between Yellow Stadium to Hall of Masters, up to 30 players per league compete for maximum numbers of trophies to maintain their rankings in the arenas. At the end of each week, the top players rank up arenas; in contrast, the bottom players rank down arenas.
Mechanics[]
In order to join Arena Leagues, player must play at least one Ranked game. After the battle they will be assigned to the random league. Every league has 30 players of the respective arena and it refreshes each week. Players compete against eachother by earning trophies from Ranked Battles. Games are not restricted to players in the leaderboard.
- Winning awards 3 trophies
- 3+ win streak awards 1 extra trophy. Win streak can be resumed in the next league.
- Streakbreaker (winning against someone on 3+ win streak) bonus awards 1 trophy
- Losing:
- On Lead Dungeon and below awards no trophy.
- On Ceramic Crucible, MOAB Pit and BFB Colosseum incurs a 1 trophy penalty.
- On ZOMG Superdome and Hall of Fame incurs 3 trophy penalty.
At the end of the league week, top players earn Monkey Money and progress to the higher league, while bottom players drop to the lower league. Each season has 4 arena league weeks. Players will not be demoted if they have not entered Arena Leagues, but they will be demoted if they entered Arena Leagues and ended it with 0 trophies.
The Hall of Masters players do not progress - instead their score is counted towards the elo in the global leaderboard.
- MOAB Pit and below: Top 10 players progress to the next arena, bottom 10 drop to the lower arena.
- BFB Colosseum: Top 5 players progress to ZOMG Superdome, bottom 10 players drop to MOAB Pit.
- ZOMG Superdome: Top 3 players progress to the Hall of Masters, bottom 10 players drop to BFB Colosseum.
- Hall of Masters: Bottom 10 players drop to ZOMG Superdome.
Upon reaching 10 win streak, player can choose Fast Track promotion. This immediately moves them to the next league, but they will not earn Monkey Money by doing that. If declined, then player has to reach 10 win streak again to get the offer again.
Red Bloon Camp does not use weekly arena leagues. Instead players will enter a continuous, rolling league that does not reset. They are promoted to Yellow Stadium and enter weekly leagues upon earning 30 trophies.

“ | The feedback from the Arena Leagues survey showed that many players wanted Hall of Masters to be a more exclusive arena with a much higher skill threshold. We are increasing the trophy penalty in ZOMG and HoM so that a 50% win rate (excluding streak bonuses) would be the minimum to avoid auto demotion. We want to avoid increasing the penalty to 4 or more trophies as it would significantly reduce the number of players in the Hall of Masters and make it much harder to find a match. We’re monitoring the other arenas and may make further adjustments in the future. | ” |

Quotes[]
“ | A lot of the feedback we saw about fast track in its current form was that it felt quite grindy and just a race to 50 trophies. So, from 4.1, it’ll no longer be based on trophies. Instead, if you reach a win streak of 10+ games, you will then be given the option to fast track to the next arena and there will be no limit to the number of people per league who can be fast tracked. The hope here is that it’ll make fast tracking more skill-based! | ” |

Bugs[]
Patched
- [4.0] Some players were erroneously assigned to Red Bloon Camp after the 4.0 version update[1]. Currently, if they have not played a game, they will be correctly assigned after relaunching the game.
- [4.0] Elo score change sometimes appeared to the players below the Hall of Masters.
