Abyssal Warrior is the fourth upgrade of Path 1 for the Mermonkey in Bloons TD 6. The mighty tentacles of the Mermonkey have increased pierce (32), increased slap radius (12), damage (18), and attack cooldown reduced from 3.0s to 2.5s. Tridents from this Mermonkey are additionally coated in ink that slows bloons by 40% for 10 seconds, including slowing MOABs and BFBs by 28%. Nearby monkeys affected by the local-ranged Abyss buff now gain +15% pierce instead of +5% pierce.

This upgrade costs $3,060 on Easy, $3,600 on Medium, $3,890 on Hard, and $4,320 on Impoppable.

Describe a little more about the monkey and the monster, not an expert in mythology, so finding out what the sea monster is a reference might be dubious at the moment

Abyssal Warrior sits on top of a much darker blue sea monster with blue spikes. The Mermonkey grows two cyan-colored horns, and much longer dark blue hair, enough to cover his right eye, and his hair has some large lighter blue spots. His upper canines stick out. He has the same skin tone and fur color, unlike the sea monster he sits on. His trident is an even larger staff, which has a cone-shaped shell colored white with large azure-blue spikes, attached to a blue grip and white base, and soaked at the ends of the trident with almost black ink. The tentacles of the sea monster occasionally wave around, similarly to Ocean Obyn's Wall of Trees ability.

Crosspaths do change the appearance of the Abyssal Warrior. Crosspathing with Sharper Prongs adds a white "crown" around the monkey's head, while Icy Chill adds a octohedron-shaped blue crystal on the forehead of the crown. Echosense Precision colors the monkey's eyes black with white irises, and the monkey's staff has pink swirls around its base and the cone-shaped shell.

The sea monster is loosely based on the charybdis, a Greek mythological sea monster, as well as the multi-tentacled Kraken, a mythological cephalopod of Scandanavian and German origin. The sea monster is shielded by a black shell, with angry white eyes peeking out. It has 8 dark blue tentacles with cyan-colored undersides of the tentacles. Tentacles are independently attacking, each tentacle having a separate attack cooldown, and separated fields of vision. If bloons are within range, the tentacles slap bloons, dealing high damage across a tight radius and hitting many bloons at once. It attacks much faster than its previous upgrade, and even more damage and pierce, and slapping across a wider radius.

Additionally, all towers nearby the Abyss Dweller gain the Abyssal Warrior buff, receiving +15% pierce. A visible buff of the Abyssal Warrior's percentage pierce buff gain an icon of an abyssal monster above the selected tower.

Targeting Priorities[]

Abyssal Warrior targets bloons using the standard targeting priorities. Its trident attack shoots straight movement projectiles.

First: Targets the first bloon visible within its range.
Last: Targets the last bloon visible within its range.
Close: Targets the closest bloon visible within its range.
Strong: Targets the strongest bloon visible within its range.

Adding Echosense Precision grants camo detection to the Mermonkey, but does not add the Camo Prioritization targeting option.

Trident:
- Projectile, normal type, 28 range (35 range if placed on water), 0.804s attack cooldown, 2 impacts. Projectile speed of 300, projectile lifespan of 0.333s. Upon hitting a bloon, generate Piercing. Coats affected bloons and smaller blimps (MOABs and BFBs only) with Ink, lasting for 10s and slowing down bloons by 40% and smaller blimps by 28%.

Tentacles:
- Melee "projectile", sharp type, 28 range (35 range if placed on water), 12 blast radius, 18 damage, 32 pierce, 2.5s cooldown.
Abyss Warrior Pierce Buff:
- Passive, zone, 28 range (35 range if placed on water), gives +15% pierce to all nearby towers

Crosspathing interactions

4-1-0: Pierce of Piercing increased from 3 to 6.
4-2-0: Projectile size of Trident increased from 6 to 9, freezes up to 4 layers of bloons for 0.5s.
4-0-1: Gains camo detection, and Trident has light seeking with 390 turning rate.
4-0-2: Gains the Network buff, affecting itself and all other x-x-2 Mermonkeys, granting +6% range.

Monkey Knowledge interactions

Monkey Education: All Monkeys XP earn rate increased by 8%.
Better Sell Deals: All Monkeys sell for 5% more. Increases sell potency from 70% to 75%.
Veteran Monkey Training: All Monkeys reload time reduced by 3%.

Summary[]

The Abyssal Warrior offers a variety of benefits for a single Tier 4, including high damage, an improved percentage pierce buff, and slowdown that can affect up to MOABs and BFBs. Like Abyss Dweller, towers that benefit greatly from the Abyssal Warrior's percentage pierce buffs include Spike Factory, making the Abyssal Warrior a great synergy with Spike Factories, particularly in combination with the Abyssal Warrior's tentacles clearing out multi-layered bloons before spikes get consumed by excessive quantities of bloons. The inking of bloons is helpful for slowing crowds of bloons. Altogether, the Abyssal Warrior adds a wide variety of support and damage for a reasonable cost.

Tips[]

It should be noted that Abyssal Warrior’s ink can stack with MOAB Glue, although MOAB Glue can stick and slow down ZOMGs and visible DDTs, which the Abyssal Warrior is unable to do.
Because tridents slow bloons down, the 4-2-0 is more important if utilizing the slowdowns of the Abyss Warrior. However, if the need to cover more towers with an improved percentage pierce buff, the 4-0-2 is better. Since it can't ink DDTs under any circumstance, 4-0-1 isn't very helpful as an innately camo-detecting alternative to MOAB Glue.
4-2-0 crosspath does not have an anti-synergy with Abyssal Warrior when interacting with its tentacles, as the tentacles are able to damage Frozen Bloons, and double-dip on the capability to slow down the movement of bloons.
Abyssal Warrior's 18 damage is enough to one-shot normal Ceramics, which is important when considering popping Ceramics during ordinary rounds.
